hi petrol head thanks for the info, i had a quick look tonite in the dark near the ecu and couldnt see the pat module, i know the mk1 galaxy the ecu was under the dash near gauges is this where it located as on my mk2 galaxy ecu is behind car battery? thanks steve.

hi when you say the reader coil do you mean the transponder the black plastic part on the end of the barrell (key end) if so i just slid it off and reconnected when barrell changed.

hi, i have just tried it, the door led stays fully illuminated once ignition switched on in this time i can crank/start engine, if leave a delay with ignition on the led flashes rapidly and then i cant crank the engine until i turn ignition off and back on and crank immediately. thanks, steve.

hi, thanks for the suggestions the fuel pipes are correctly fitted, and i have swapped the ignition barrell over i did take the chip out and try with original key the car came with but have since swapped the barrell over and refitted the chip. the central locking all works fine??

hi, i had a x reg 1.9tdi galaxy which got wrote off by accident damage to bodywork, i purchased another 52 reg non runner which i found the turbo had failed, ive swapped the engine/gearbox from my x reg. the car will start for a brief second and then just cuts out, i have swapped various sensors etc, with no luck, i have put the correct ecu for engine onto it also the central locking module from the fuse box, the intercooler had a lot of oil in it but appears pretty clear. i cant work out if its a pats problem or a engine related fault. Any advice appreciated, thanks

hi can anyone help please, i have a xreg 1.9tdi the air con/aux heating switches are no longer illuminating/working it is the row of three switches at the bottom of panel, i think also the heat control is not working from hot to cold.

hi i had glow light flashing on previous galaxy i owned v plate, found it was the brake light switch not working but did work intermittently. worth checking as causes weird faults.

hi thanks for your help on this checked fuse 32 and was blown, i work with specialized plant and work with electrics in depth i sure when checked with multimeter on continuity check it was fine but wasnt when checked second time.... thanks for your help greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you look for a blown fuse and also then remove and check the wiring in the drivers door - you probably have one or more broken wires in there but the short circuit in the tailgate wiring allowed the circuit to complete. Now you've repaired that its not working. Personally I would cancel the diagnostic with Ford, in my experience they won't tell you what the wiring issue is just on the initial instpection but simply tell you you have a general wiring fault which will require more extensive diagnostics. thanks may well cancel and look at door wiring thanks

hi thanks for all your suggestions i checked wiring again and all fine, ive got booked in at fords tomorrow for a dianosis check at 90 pounds (what a expense) have been reading on forum and seems maybe looking at relays problem please help

hi im new on here and after some help i have an x reg mark2 galaxy i noticed when opening the tailgate there was 1 or 2 broken wires in the rubber boot where it hinges. i repaired these wires which was making the rear fog warning lamp flash continuous this fixed the problem but immediately after this the drivers door wouldnt work on the central locking, the trip meter zeros every time keys are removed, air con dont switch on and clock stopped if sitting in car and press door lock switch on door locks all others except drivers when pressed to open drivers door then locks???
