  1. Can anyone tell me the length of the handbrake cable. The one that runs from the central adjuster to the caliper please. I need to replace one and found one on eBay that says length 1300mm, but also says please check this will fit your vehicle. Thanks in advance. Andy
  2. Just to let you guys know, I changed the battery and all is fine once again. Although I'm still getting the recurring error on the coolant fan, even after clearing the codes. Any ideas?
  3. Also have run vag com on her, and I keep getting error 18080 coolant fan control 1. Have tried clearing it and it keeps coming back. Would this be the Main fans on the rad, and best way to tackle it? (Climate panel is flashing and I'm hoping its to do with this error). Thank you. Andy
  4. Thank you for the fast reply, will try putting the battery from my other galaxy on it tomorrow and see if that does the job, anything else I can try if that happens to not be the problem. :-)
  5. Hi guys need some help, am almost at the end of my engine swap, and I have had the car running fine, but today I replaced the front discs and pads and now I have a problem. When I go to start the car the dash lights come on ok, then when I turn the key to start her, I get an electrical clicking from the engine bay and all the dash lights flicker, and I'm getting another clicking noise coming from the fuse box area (by drivers feet). Engine isn't turning at all. Car has not actually been driven yet as it has no t&t but it has been starting first turn of the key every time and straight away. I think it's possibly a relay but am not sure. So could some kind soul point me in the first place to start hunting. Thank you sooooo much. Andy
  6. Have a look here:- http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php/topic/21141-reworked-gearbox-stub-and-half-shaft-assemblies/?hl=%2Bhalf+%2Bshaft+%2Bsplines. I'm no expert on the galaxy but copy and paste that link into your browser I think this maybe your problem, hope it helps. Andy
  7. No Chris, no overheating issues( at present) just changed all the fluids and wanted to make sure the antifreeze had fully circulated around the system. Am getting warm/hot air through the vents it's just on my mk1 that I'm still driving the radiator NEVER gets warm.
  8. Forgot to mention at that temp what I can feel of the rad is still cold also
  9. How will I know if the stats working then Chris, I can't physically drive the car as it has no t&t?
  10. As above, Haynes reckons 85oc, so ran car to 88-89 and bottom rad hose was still cold, this after fitting a brand new stat. Is the Haynes wrong. Thanks. Andy
  11. Hi, anyone on here know where I can get the brushes for the run on pump, I'm sure I read a post about someone on here that sells them but I can't find the post! Thanks. Andy
  12. Any help with the above. Have just received a galaxy from a friend but I need the radio code and he doesn't have it. Have checked on the radio and no joy. The serial number is :- M029972. Hope someone can help. Thank you. Andy
  13. Right, after reading about the wiper removal, I pulled the mechanism out the car to check the spindles both seemed ok, but I stripped them down, cleaned and regreased and put back together, but the wipers are still slow on the first speed. Full speed seems fine, but on slow the wipers move there full range but not quite fast enough. I have just put flat blade wipers on could this be hindering it slightly, also the wiper arms themselves have virtually no splines on them, but once the 17mm nut is tight they don't move out of there typical movement pattern which is good. Help!
