  1. Hi all and thanks for the advice so far. The wiring is fully intact. Symptoms go as follows. Each time i unlock/lock the near side rear door goes through 4 cycles i.e. lock-unlock-lock-unlock. The inside handle can be seen moving in and out and I have checked its' manual adjustment. I am wondering if there is a sensor that detects that the lock has moved/locked/unlocked? I have had a good look around and cannot detect a micro-switch. I am also wondering if it could be a control unit but am sceptical about it being on that door only. Appreciate any thoughts/guidance. Rick
  2. Hi thanks for the information and the ticking not being indicative of failure makes sense with the symptoms I have at the moment. I live between Portsmouth and Southamton so grateful if any nearby meembers have the equipment tocheck this out for me,
  3. Hi all, my second posting on this great forum. Best one I have ever used. Anyway to business. I have a 2.3 Zetec 2002. On selecting the parking sensors I get the long tone then the 'flashing P' symbol indicatinf failure. I have started the engine and the advice of this forum got my 'lug 'ole' around each sensor and found that all the front and rear sensors are 'clicking' (sounds like a small static discharge). I understand the control unit is under the passenger seat as I suspect this might the best itme to check next. Please can someone confirm I am right to go here next as I surprised it could have failed if all the sensors are firing. Am I missing something. There has never been any water ingress in there as far I can see. Lastly, anybody any idea how much they cost? Thanks in advance for any help. Rick
  4. Hi all, I have a 2002 2.3 ZETEC. I am using the non remote key and everything functions fine bar the central locking. On locking/unlocking the near side rear door handle moves in and out a few times but rarely operates properly. It is especially inclined no to lock. I am not sure what could have failed and would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Plus if anyone knows where to buy a remote key for a sensible price please give me a shout. My first post: great forum and I have saved a real packet using the top tips here. Rick
