I Have a mark 2 VAG Cycle carrier for sale and would like to know if it will fit a Mk1 tailgate?

Seems ages since i had a look on here,anyway just changed my Mk2 for a Mk3 i know glutton for punishment and all that, but still cannot better it ,I have a VAG Cycle carrier which i believe was sold origanally for 300 pounds +has only been used couple of times so is in perfect cond but would like to know if it could fit a Mk1 am looking for

Have left Gal with auto electrician and has said he has spoken to Ford technical people who confirmed his suspitions that there are two fuse boards with printed cicuitry which have probably fracturedand will need replacing, Ford quote for fuse boxes as 950-1000 quid. He does know of a recon specialist which can supply for approx a quater of this , will give total bill eventually when repairs carried out sometime next week(fingers crossed).

Nothing to do with wiper arm linkage but a connector coloured pink/purple under fuse box nearest accelerator pedal needs to be wiggled/pushed about and then it all comes on. Have not had time to play with this yet am hoping to within next week has any body taken these connectors out yet?

Had not used wipers all day, went to use them in evening and nothing front and rear, Checked fuses 20 and 24 which had not blown but replaced anyway. Still nothing but washers are still working. Played for about an hour and in frustration decided to call RAC man who turned up 20 mins later . Explained problem he turned on to see and everything worked lovely!, he laughed, i cried and said a few words and then turned everything off then tried again and then same thing again thankfully for me no wipers! Also found that aircon and heated windscreens were also not working. RAC man checked fuses and said alls well and phoned his HQ who told to find main connections on fuse box and could not find which plug. But now it kept working fine after turning ignition off he left baffled and said hopefully it was one of those problems that hits modern electronics. Would like to hear from anyone who has had this problem occur and if solved.

Had this problem where engine stuttered between 1500 and 2000 revs becoming more frequent and annoying since changing MAF Filter last year ,also had the strange power loss. After looking on site and getting slightly confused went to my local garage and told him symptoms he ruled out turbo and said where did you get maf filter from . Told him it was from an autoparts company and he said it was the most common fault.Pulled connector off drove up and down road put connector back on and car back to normal apart from annoying jerking between 1500 and 2000 revs. Ordered new maf filter this time a genuine bosch from Trade parts specialist supplies and works like a charm.Previous posts have warned about the pattern ones and when compared they do have different parts inside so best advise is to always buy genuine items on important parts such as these.

It works! thank the lord ,only trouble now is to get the remote to work again, could not believe that i found that chip!

Have just found the chip lying on floor and have now put it back into fob ,will this work now or do I have to go through another procedure

I know this topic has been covered, but to save time I have only Two keys .One with remote came apart when getting into car, did put it together again but took about a minute so when I tryed to start engine would not do so . It still locks & unlocks doors.Got hold of spare key which thankfully starts engine so tried to recode to no avail,as manual says you have to have 2 spare keys, is this correct? and what do I do now?

Last year bought headlight deflectors for travelling in France from Halfrauds which came with a magnetic GB plate ,followed instuctions and stuck them on at the right place. When i returned home i peeled them off and was left with sticky residue which took an age to clean off ,i cannot reuse them because there is no stickyness in them. So are these meant to be one off fitting ? and is there a much better kit to buy than these? thanks for any info

Good advice, thanks so far we did go down to angers area last year advoiding Paris and found Motorways quiet and easy to drive on without seeing any breakdown or accidents in 360 miles on 1\2 tank of diesel ,however got myself a tom tom this year and forgot to mention i dont have a caravan just a topbox and 3 bike tailgate carrier.

Annual holiday being taken in Limousin area this year at end of July,have not had pleasure of this famous route before and was wondering if anyone else has had any experience on a Saturday morning at approx 10am, or should i take longer route ie Rouen/Le Mans ect.

Good combi I myself have cheaper black bars and a 580 Ltr Halfords box found on EBay for a lot less than their rip off prices.

Theres a great big, usually 2 lane highway outhere which is not used for freight and hardly any passengers anymore mainly because of price they charge which was invented in this country adopted by just about every other country and successfully,oh yes nearly forgot to say as it used to be called British Rail.

Latest trainers are in the shops, Ther called Nikes for Dykes,they come with extra long tongue and you can get them off with one finger.
