I lent forwards a bit too far & quickly yesterday trying to see properly at a junction which is at odd angles. Usual type of thing happened, got pinned to my seat because the reel had locked up, but wouldn't release again. When I got to my destination the belt retracted back as it should, but now I can't pull it out to put it on again. I tried all the normal stuff of giving it a yank and releasing, pulling it really gently and slowly, giggling it up and down, had a little drive up and down to change angle of vehicle, and hoping the vibrations would release it. Nothing has worked, it stubbornly refuses to pull out and be worn! Just popped the trim panel off to see if I can see anything obvious (in the growing gloom of darkness!) and can't spot anything that I would consider out of place. Has anyone else found if there is a release lever for the inertia reel? I also noticed a large connection that I'm guessing is related to the SRS system. Could it be the SRS that's holding it, and would a power off and on release it? Thank You (as ever!!) in advance.
