Thanks for the info. If I was to utilise all the seats except one rear seat and leave it folded down, what is the size of the floor space available and how high is the roof? Based on my Toyota I can fit 3 bags measuring 46cm x 71cm x 25cm laying on top of each other in the space where the 7th seat is laying down with approx. 15cm to spare between the end of the bag and the back door provided the end of the bags are pushed up against the back of the 2nd row. As we don't have a Ford this size in Australia I can't pop down to the local dealer to measure the boot space and the Ford website test reviews don't have anyone trying to put luggage in one. Could I fit 3 bags with the above dimensions in the Galaxy, taking up a total space of 46cm x 71cm x 75cm (3 bags laying flat on top of each other)?

I am planning to hire a Ford Galaxy for 6 weeks next year to travel around the UK with 3 adults and 3 kids, one of which is still in a booster seat. I currently drive a 7-seat Toyota in Australia and the boot space will definitely not fit luggage for 6 when the rear seats are used so I was wondering if the Galay has the same problem. The Ford specs say it has capacity of 308L but can anyone tell me what the actual dimensions are of the boot when the rear seats are being used? Also how much room is their in the 3rd row? Some of the photos I have seen online show about enough room for a 4 year old, anyone bigger is likely to have their knees around their ears. I have also seen an 8 seat version advertised on car hire sites but have not been able to find any specs. Does this still exist are does this relate to an older model? Or is it just an extra seat belt in the third row with no extra room?
