Hi all. I have abs light on and auto gearbox problem with my 1999 2.3 petrol auto ford galaxy. With money tight I just require a 'budget' tool to read what is wrong with car and fix it myself. I've had nothing but problems with this car and just want rid of. Searching the internet has left me a little confused as to what exactly will work on the vehicle as I understand the galaxy is basically a vw sharran with a ford engine. Do I buy a simple code reader and if so, which one? (or) buy a vagcom or vcds cable and download the basic software from ross tech site? Can someone help, please! Thanks

Hi all. (1999 2.3 auto). Problem just started a few days ago. Will pull away and shift upto second gear but then revs get too high and won't shift to 3rd gear. I changed the gearbox oil as soon as I bought it a few months ago so that shouldn't be an issue. Anyone have any ideas where I should start looking? Thanks.
