  1. Hi Same thing happened with My Galaxy 2.3 LX 2002 few months ago. Turned out to be fuel pump. Ignition the key close the door at a quite time turn the key and listen carefully, if you hear a very brief spray sound, that would be fine if you dont hear the spray sound, that is your fuel pump mate, not very expansive you do it yourself but will cost a fortune in a garage, quite easy to DIY though
  2. HI I have the same problem would you like to share the site will other Thanks
  3. Yes That is Correct My Mistake its passenger side middle row seat...
  4. Hi All: Just wish to contribute some thing and share it will all of you I was having problems with starting earlier this month and tried every thing encluding: Infamous Relay 30 Changed Brand New Coil Pack Re-Programmed Key but all in vain Finally It was diagnosed that the Fuel Pump was busted. I tried to get the QUOTE for a new fuel pump and to my suprise the best quote I got was 515 + VAT. Too much and inflated prices dissappointed me so much that decisded to sell the car even though I did not wish to. I searched the entire web to know how to change the Fuel Pump but did not find a sigle bit not even on this forum. But then someone an angel came and told me what to do to change. He gave me instructions and the address of the place where I could buy a used one. Guys....Believ it or not, It was all sorted out in 75 Quad and 1/2 Hour of my own labour. :angry2: I am going to post the video and all that you can do is as follow: 1-Open Right Side Passenger door and remove the seat. 2-Unscrew the side scerting and pull the carpet out. 3-You will see a roundish black plate with three screws and which is secured underneath a solisd bar with 4 bolts. 4-Un-screw Bolts and unscrew the round plate. 5-Vallah There you will see the top of the fuel pump. which is secured with a round screwable cover. 6-First You will see an ARROW Please note the position of arrow. You will see 2 pipes, in the bottom of the pipes you will see a round shape (which is a clip) take a small screw drive Press the clip and pull up. 7-Power Clip is also there, hols two sides of power clip and press and pull carefully. 8-Using a flat surface screw drive and a hammer, tap slowly the round cover Anti-Clock wise. 9- Remove the cover and slowly and gently hold the pump and give an anti-clock tund a Quarter to losen it from the rubber grip. 10-Its lose now and ready to take out. Carefully take it out but very slowly as it full of petrol and you need to shake it well to drain as much petrol as possible. 11-Using a thick cloth beneath the device remove it. Place the new one in carefully and gently making sure the rubber gaskit is properly sealing the device, screw back the RING to fix it making sure that ring is being screwed evenly. CAUTION: Dont use any device which can produce spark al all times Absolutely No smoking during the whole procedure Make sure you have place plenty of absorbent beneath the tank (on the floor) to avoide petrol spillage on the ground. Rubber Ring must be scurely and evenly tightned by tapping with screw driver and hammer but gently. I hope this may help many of the forum member to avoide hefty repaire bill for oil pump. I will upload the videos on you tube and then let you know guys All the Best Hassan
  5. Hi Tona955: Honestly speaking I am tired of this car. I have been dring and owning cars for the pat 30 years bu Have never seen an automobile which is so complecate, difficlt and un-willing to strart. Today I changed its Relay 30 which seem to be a common problem with these cars. It was hell of a battle to open the fron panel and replace the relay but somehow I managed to do it. Then started and buzzzzzzzz did not start again and now I am tired of spending money on this and getting rid of it, It was better to buy a Honda or Mitsubishi MPV which faaaaaarrrr more trustworthy and easy to repair All of you have fun with these galaxies Hassan
  6. Hi Yes key does not have a damage, did not fell down, I have two keys 1 with remote which can unlock/lock the door by pressing button and manually and other key I use to start the engine
  7. Ford Galaxy 2.3 LX 2002 Model Petrol on an 02 Plate, 90,000 Miles This is a really strange and somehow unusual story. 3 weeks ago I parked this car after returning from office. It was Wednesday evening. On the following week on Monday I started it and surprise, it refused to start. Engine spins, starter motor spins the engine but it does not fires up. Called RAC as usual, he said it fuel pump Checked the Forum, which suggested that it might be infamous Relay 30 Called a diagnostic guy, he checked it and found no error (Yes absolutely No Error Code) so he said it could be Immobiliser problem. The lights on DOOR was first few seconds solid red, and when tried to start, it was blinking so He tried to re-programme key but failed , message read
  8. It should be at the lower end of fuse box lid on the right side of steering wheel. You dont have to open the fuse box lid to access the connector
  9. There's nothing wrong with Aux heaters!! when there working OK :) Very interesting Findings I have here to share with you Fellas Last time I told you that I will book a diagnostic with Ford, Well I did and absolutely nothing came up in the diagnostic, everything was fine and Ford could not find any possible fault, so I came back with a hanging face :( . Last Tuesday, I opened the bonnet and starred at every single piece and after a long L@@K I suddenly noticed that the cover of air filter box was not properly shut. Left side of the cover hav an opening and I could see the filter from that opening and the garage guy who did the service was a pure A** who could not even do the service right. So I opened the cover fixed it correcly air tight, and took it for a long run and gues what? the consumption not just came back to the normal but I felt it was even improved, So I guess that if the air filter is not closed properly that can cause increase in the petrol consumption :) I must thank you guys for sharing your enormous experiance with me. All the best
  10. I dont know about the battery senstivity of the Galaxies But Mates I have what I call the strangest problem with my Galaxy 2.3Lx on an 02 plate. I parked it on Thursday evening, tried to start on Monday Morning, Everything seems to work fine including starter moter turn the engine make starting noise but long ingnitions and it dont start. Everything seems to work ok no warning lights, battery seems fine otherwise it will not start the starer motor, I hope someone out on this forum have some idea to what it is? Cheers
  11. First of all Thanks very Much CYBORG for the tip on re-setting the service light, It worked very well Car is running very fine Accelration is good took it for a long run on M25 and ran just fantastic Mileage was lill better on Highway Got checked all the wires, connectors and evrything seems to be fine, No funny noises accept queeky sound from auxillary belt which I suppose is common in Galaxy Further will take it on a diagnotic to Ford just to double check if everything works fine Chers Mate
  12. Hassan - I hope your charge voltage has by now settled down from the 16.8 v you say you had. A more realistic figure should be 14.8 max. Check out - www.thequalityfactor.co.uk/offers/FORD%20CARS-SCS.doc interesting little fact sheet. Rich Voltage flow still is over 16v, what you think? shall I change the battery?
  13. THanks guys Yes the spark plugs were changed and so were all the filters and anti freez etc. It currently return just 20 MPG however before this it use to give me round about 26 to 30 mpg's
  14. Hi All I have a Ford Galaxy Lx2.3L Model 2002 on an o2 Plate. I had this car recently serviced but the Garage guy forgot to reset the computer. After driving it for a month, I noticed during the last filling, that car seem to consume more petrol than before especially while in traffic. Can any please explain why it is so. Many Thanks
  15. Finally found out today that Alternator was fine so I changed the power cable that connects battery and alternator, and fuse box. I also purchased few extra fuses 150 Amps and an insulation tap just in case if similar problem occurs in future, I can at least reach home. No longer believe in these RAC/AA their skills are only limited to jump start and/or tow your car home or a garage of their chose which are awfully expansive and rip off. Current flowing from battery is about 16.8/9v which I suppose is ok.
