  1. Had a little brush with garage door and damaged outing door mirror casing on my 58 reg Galaxy. Have been offered one same colour which was fitted to a 55 reg S-Max are they the same will it fit.
  2. 2.2 Diesel. At what mileage intervals should I change the fuel filter.
  3. Want to change engine oil and replace filter on my 2.2 diesel. Is it straight forward looks like have to remove engine shield to get sump plug etc. Oil filter body appears to be made of plastic with moulded nut shaped end for removal anybody done this any tips would be helpful.
  4. Trevorb Apologies for not replying sooner but been away with the tin snail (caravan) in France & Spain & now trying to catch up with back log. You more than likely have had towbar electrics completed by now. However if it's any help the problems regarding the errors on fitting the Ford kit were nothing major. Simple but annoying things like kit is supplied with 2 square plastic inserts for screwing the relay to the body work but the holes in body work are round. No mention in kit about removing sound insulation material which is as tough as old boots & difficult to do & get too. No mention of removing existing wiring harness support clips as wires won't reach new relay box etc, etc. John
  5. Colin I used the dedicated Ford wiring kit (13pin) which is actually a two part kit consisting of a wiring harness plus a relay box. Quite expensive but although I'm now retired as ex Ford I still get a 40% discount. If you use the ford kit when you connect the caravan plug it disables the rear parking sensors & fog lights plus also has a voltage controlled feed for the fridge. I was also concerned about using none Ford parts & warranty issues. I used Towtrust bar T174 which is plated at 90kg nose weight. John
  6. Fitted towbar to my 2.2 today no real problems and if anybody is thinking the same can give advice. Also fitted Ford own dedicated wiring kit which again was quite straight forward but have stumbled on a couple of errors with it. I have e-mailed Ford about the errors and interestingly waiting there reply. But the sting in the tail that it's going to cost me
  7. Anybody got a 2.2. Had mine for just over a week and find the steering heavy compared to my previous 2.0ltr. John
  8. James The answer to your question is No the MK3 does not have a warning light. I fitted a witter towbar and decided to use two Ford wiring kits required inorder to protect my warranty. It states in the fitting instructions for the wiring kit that if their is a fault the dash indiactor warning lights will flash very fast. Yes! the system does have to aligned to the cars onboard control system at a dealer. I was told it would be charged at one hours labour at
  9. Hello Any members or Ford insiders can advise me how to correctly mask off the headlights on my new model Galaxy please. On the outgoing model there was a TSB issued by Ford which gave templates to photocopy which made the whole job very easy. I have asked my supplying dealer but he told me no TSB as yet just use standard type masks (ie Halfords). As it only effects the two inner headlights it shouldn't be too difficult but I would like to get it right. John
  10. Can anyone tell me where I can locate the pollen filter on my 2004 model diesel tdi. It's due for it's first service and I want to be able to check that the filter was changed. John
  11. Contact any Ford dealer and ask for a copy of TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) No.870/2000 dated 27/07/2000. This contents full size templates for masking your headlights. I use black sticky tape to mask mine which is easily removed with white spirit and it dosen't damage plastic lens. Just done a 3 week trip to Spain plus towing a caravan, black tape well cooked on all removed ok no problem. John
