Electric Windows Problem
Globe Trotter replied to javelin's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi Guy's I too have recently had the same problem with windows! The best way to check the wiring is to pull away the gator at one end(Door side) and gently tug at each of the wires. If they are broken they will very easily come away in your hand. Depending on which cable breaks, this can also play havoc on your alarm too! it could keep setting the alarm off if there are shorts between the exposed/damaged wires. don't forget the alarm is also connected to the electric windows too. My NSR speaker stopped working as this was also an indicator of the problem I had with the broken wires. I hope this was helful to you. -
Hi Guy's & Gals My 2001 2.3 Galaxy window regulator just went bang and the glass just dropped!! :D I just removed the door card to reveal the mechanism which I have removed, wedged the glass so it's now water tight again. Looking at the kaput regulator which I hasten to add has VW imprinted on it which really isn't a surprise to be honest expected! Rang the VW dealer and was quoted

Alternator
Globe Trotter replied to Globe Trotter's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi Chris Thank you very much for the the detailed reply......Extremely helpful :) ! I followed most of what you had written with the exception of one or two things but the main thing is I managed to get the goosed Alternator off the bracket :D . I'm now shopping around for a new (re-conditioned) one now. I'm even toying around with the idea of re-conditioning it myself  After looking at the alternator it really does'nt look all that complicated at all, pretty sure I could replace damaged & faulty parts unless there are special tools required? does anyone know what it takes to recon these things tools, time, parts etc? is it worth doing ? Best Regards Ammer -

Good Evening everyone  I am in the process of putting my Gal (MK2 2.3Ghia 2001) back together and have found to my horror the fuel filler pipe/neck is cut or should I say about 4" of the cross section has been cut out B) !!! looks like it was removed some sort of saw or something :angry2: ? My question first of all is that can a bridge be used to fix the gap, the widest end is 50mm outside diameter and the narrow end is oval at approx 42mm diameter. The bridge length would need to be approx 115mm/120mm to ensure a good overlap. Failing this....... are all MK2 Galaxy fuel tanks the same capacity & fitments (petrol & Diesel) if this is so then it simplifies things a little if I need to buy one! I am looking forward to your replies guys Thanks in Advance

Good Evening everyone, I have a MK2 Galaxy 2.3 Ghia on a Y(2001) I bought the Vehicle damaged and am in the process of putting the jigsaw back together! Can anyone please tell me which type of remote fob I would require for this model and what does it look like  ?. The key I have at the moment is a flat blade type without a fob. Another question I have :18: ...... Does anyone know what this round cannister type object under the passenger side wing is ? Mine had a dislodged rubber pipe coming from it? Radiator Flush
Globe Trotter replied to Globe Trotter's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thank you all for your helpful replies ;) Just wanted to ask one other thing...... If I was to reconnect the hoses and refill with flush and water and then run until system is bled and hot and then empty the system. Do you think in your opinions that the flush would remove more of the crap when it becomes hot and agitated? I was thinking from the point of view that because it's cold outside, the flush wounldn't be having much effect in breaking down the little sludge that's in the system..... I was thinking that the hot water and flush would cut the oily crap alot better  ? Im sorry if im going round in circles, im just trying to get a full overview of all possibilities Thanks and regards -

Hello People, I have a MK2 2.3 Galaxy on 2001 plate which has now been fitted with a second-hand radiator which came from a car that had sludge in it (remains of) because of a failed head gasket. My fear now is that will this cause damage to my vehicle if I top up with water and anti-freeze? Will or can I get rid of the remains of the sludge by using radiator flush and water ? Looking forward to your replies and help will be appreciated. Best Regards
