have the same problem on my 1.9TDI 1997 and looking at replacing that hose in the BOOSCH ECU behing the dashboard its definatley on the MK1 I have found the box just didn't have the bottle to take it out. Can I ask with the hose replacements can you buy a kit or did you have to get your own and cut to fit? I wonder if mine may also be down to hoses like yours mine is very intermittent generally around 2800-3000rpm and always on motorways but not always at the same speed can be anything from 50-80 was that the same on yours? Sorry new to the site I have fault 575 and have similar symptoms only on motorways. Can anyone advise what inner and outer diameter the silicon hose has to be so that I can buy the neccessary bit before I take my car apart. GREAT POSTs !!!! by the way guys, fingers crossed might save me a few hundred pounds in Garage fault finding.
