Your reply was a great help. The oil is coming from the connection. Do these pipes need periodic cleaning or are they designed to be maintenace free. I have also heard of cleaning the turbo. Is this something that should be done and if so are there any interval suggestions. New to Galaxy's, but keen to get to know them better. Any suggestions for a maintenance manual. Mine is a 2003 which Haynes don't seem to cater for. Thanks for any replies.

I was looking around the engine compartment of my recently bought Galaxy. I have noticed black oil deposits on a pipe and valve thingy that sit just behind the camshaft cover. This same pipe seems to lead down to a kind of heat exchanger underneath the radiator and there is some oil here too. Does anybody have an idea what may be causing this? There are no issues with the cars performance but could it be the turbo?

Thanks again, When test driving I noticed that nothing happened at all when on was pressed, no light came on. Does this still point to the switches or could something be wrong with the steering wheel controls?

Thanks for the reply, This is a Ghia model so assume it has cruise control but there is nothing on the indicator stalk. The buttons are on the right hand side of the steering wheel. They are marked On - Off- Set- Can. If they are not cruise, any idea what they are for.

Hi, I am new to the forum and in the process of buying my first Ford Galaxy. The cruise control on a car I like is not working and I was wondering if anybody could help. The car is a 2003 1.9 TDI 115. The cruise seems to be built into the steering wheel. When you press the buttons their is no relay sound and no light comes on. Is the one fitted to this model still a vacuum type or did ford change it? Any idea on costs of new ones/repairs. The seller is trying to solve before I buy it but they don't seem to know much. Thanks for any help.
