  1. Hi, Our Galaxy has been trying to kill us by treating us with large amounts of white smoke inhalation or simply death through embarrassment of the cloud of smoke pumping out under the car. Its a miracle the fire brigade havent been called when we park up and pop into the shop! Having read through various posts we have been saved by simply removing Fuse 12 to kill the power to the aux heater, a new glow plug can be ordered and we can move on, so thanks to you all! I do feel though that the car is coming up with a new plan for our demise, or maybe its so tired its trying to kill itself @ 140,000 miles Overnight the cruise control has stopped working, the parking sensors have stopped working, the rear squirts are not working and the climate control lcd flashes like a lost cause during start for 10 seconds ! There are no swimming pools under the seats but the sensors used to offer a solid tone sometimes before they died Any ideas, its a Diesel 2001 (51) Mk II tdi Ghia Im on the hunt for a fuse I can replace perhaps :-) Dave
  2. Hi, Parked the car having driven it no problems. would not start this morning, would not turn over. key in ignition all the dash lights up and i get the usual single high noted beep and you can hear what i think is the fuel pump (its a sound toward the rear of the vehicle) glow plug symbol lights turn the key a further step to start nothing happens. we only have one key and it has the transponder. i removed the panels and got access to the third layer of relays, no relay 30 but a relay 109, removal of this causes the glow plug light not to light, banging all the relays makes no difference. checking the solder joints in the realy no problems. light in door flashes when the car is locked and stops when you unlock with the remote on the key. after inserting key and turning to the red light goes solid then goes out and waiting a minute of two sees no flashes. checked all fuses with multimeter. help !
