  1. Hi RadioTwo, thanks for your reply. I was trying to understand from existing users of the VAG-COM system, what adjustments, if any, could be done to the timing. Experience is always a million times better than marketing hype! If you or any other members have experiences of VAG-COM or other systems with respect to timing, I would love to hear about them, Thanks, john
  2. Hi, This is my first post as I've recently bought a 1998 Galaxy Ghia 1.9Tdi (AFN/110bhp). The cam belt was in dire need of replacement so I replaced that yesterday following the Haynes manual and various posts on the web including this great web forum! Can any one who has used the VAG.COM 409 software with some OBD connectors advise me on what can be done to alter the electronic timing (of the injectors I understand) using the VAG-COM. I swear in my trawl through the many posts on the web that the electronic timing could be adjusted but the VAG-COM manual (www.ross-tech.com)says this: "The timing in the PD & CR engines is determined electronically by the ECU. There is neither a need nor an ability to check timing on the PD or CR engines using VCDS" I know the mechanical timing is the first thing to set right using the cam, injector pump alignment but is there no way to adjust the electronic timing for my engine? I was hoping to use the electronic means to fine tune my engine. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, John
