  1. Now while this topic is on, it would be nice if you could answer a few little questions for me. I'm also busy with the aux heater on an MK2. I think it's easier to keep one topic about it at the time. I removed the aux heater totally (coolant lines also disconnected), installed new glow plug, glow plug screen and new gaskets. After I refitted the aux heater there was of course air in the system but it didn't disappear. Then I found out that the run on pump didn't work (I probably needs new busches). I searched the fuse of the pump in Ford-TIS and it was Fuse 9 (5A) (at least I think it's that fuse). Then I saw that there was no fuse 9 so I refitted one. But With or without fuse 9, there keeps going power to the pump. When i pushed hard against the connector , the pump did work, but the air in the system didn't disappear and the level in the coolant tank didn't lower. So now i'm going to replace the brushes in the motor of the run on pump. Questions: 1) What is fuse 9 for and what is the right fuse for the run on pump? 2) how can I get the air out of the system? Many thanks ;)
  2. You can pull it a little bit out and then you should be able to see the serial number on the side of the radio. It won't loose power because the cables are still connected. But be carefull for the cables of course. And with that serial number I can find the keycode. If you want, you can give the code here or via pm to me.
  3. Do you have a serial number of the radio with a 'M' and 6 digits?
  4. Is it the original 1,5DIN radio from Ford? Probably a 6000 CD? And which radio is the tape player? You need some ISO head unit removal keys. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-ISO-CAR-STEREO-RADIO-REMOVAL-KEYS-PC5-83-/260987397971?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item3cc40fa753 Or 4 small screwdrivers, but that's not as handy as the keys.
  5. Do you know what the function is of the sunlight sensor? What does it do? (I'm just wondering about that for a long time) And I'm afraid I can't help you. Mayby you can try the scrapyard.
  6. Are you sure that you have the right code?
  7. I know, but I like to search and find faults in electronics. But in the mean time: It works again. :) Actually I don't really understand what the fault was. I found out thet te power IC didn't deliver 5V to the main CPU. So I put 5V on it manually. The appeared 'TEN' on the display. (Someone in the past was clearly trying random codes.) So is pushed 'SELECT' and 'MAN' at the same time for a few seconds. This gives you an extra but also last chance. So I gave in the code and it worked again! The weird part is: now I don't need to put manually 5V anymore on the main CPU. Now i'm going to replace the cassette deck by a line-in connector (AUX). I've actually already done and tested that and the sound is great. Now I just have to build it in neathly. This is a simple mod and can also be don by the 2007® RDS. Mayby I make a tutorial/how-to in the future if there are people interested.
  8. So i've heard that the radio has been lying upside down in a puddle of rain. Ande the water reached half the height of the radio. So which components can be damaged by water?
  9. Hello, I received a 2006R RDS from someone, but it doesn't do anything. When I connect the power, nothing appears on the screen and when the removable panel is removed, the red light also doesn't flash. There is just no sign of life. Are there common problems with those radios or does someone have any ideas or tips what may be wrong? thanks I'll try to ask the person who gave me the radio more information about it and it's history.
  10. Find the right pump and connect it to the vacuum pipe and the electrical connector. After that it should work! :)
  11. Hi there, a few years ago I had a problem with my lights and in the garage they told me there was a short circuit in the wiring of the boot. What they did: they CUT the rubber and insulated the broken wires with tape. That was the worst repair i've ever seen. And because of the rubber hose was gone water could drip everywhere in the car and the boot. So now a few months ago I decided to repair it in a good way. I bought me this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPARATURSATZ-KABELBAUM-HECKKLAPPE-FORD-GALAXY-WGR-BIS-BJ-04-00-/370700948371?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D4290746177051736682%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D370700948371%26 Not really cheap but the quality of the wires is amazing and the hose is an original part! So I removed the trim of the boot and the trim of the pillar and cut out a good part of the wiring. Then I soldered my new wires with my new hose(so I didn't use that clamp system thing as shown). And now there can't get water in my car any more. I say it again: the wires are amazing quality and very flexible. They have a kind of a silicone insulation. Thes wires are way better than the original wires for that 'hinge' point. They will last much longer than the original wires. So I bet that your rubber hose is still ok so you can also look for good qualitiy cables as I described. Hope this can help you.
  12. Hi, Today I discovered this topic: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/15315-fault-code-help-please/ There are two pictures. At the top of the first pic there are 2 connectors. The one on the right is from the sun sensor I think. I'd like to know what the connector on the left is. Where is it for? (And if you got the time and know the answer: what's the function of the sun sensor?) I really like my Galaxy so I want to know as much as possible about it  Many thanks!
  13. Hello all I have a MK1 Galaxy with a 2007 R RDS cassette radio. In the back of the car is a 12- pin connector for a cd changer. Does someone knows a scheme for connecting an mp3 jack to the connector or an adapter cable ? I haven't found a correct cable yet. thanks
  14. Hello, I'm looking for that system for my Galaxy for a long time. It would be very helpfull if you place any pics from the system and the connectors. Thanks.
