I think that there are fuses in mine that don't have to be there. Can anyone attach a picture so that we can compare? The problem is that with the description of the fuses in the handbook I don't know exactly what all the pictures mean.

Yes it shows a picture of what each one does but I wanted something that listed the fuse rating alongside the fuse number.

I have got to do the same at some point. What is the best cable to use? I tried to trace the cable back along inside the car to see if the cable can unplug somewhere and then just replace the whole cable from the car to the rear hatch but I don't think it will be that easy.

Can anyone help me regarding my fuse box? I have attached a picture of it. The problem is that it does not match the information provided in the car manual, so I have got no idea what fuse does what. Can anyone provide a list with what fuse does what? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that, I will give them a go. Would I be correct in saying that without this pump working the Aux heater would do nothing at all, not even make a noise before it shuts down? What I am hoping is that when I renew this pump the heater should work again.

Yes that's what I am worried about. I could not easily see a spare plug that could be used unless it is tucked away out of view.

Just been to Fords to find out how much a new fuel metering pump(for the aux heater) would cost and was told

I have got a standard instrument panel in my Gal 1.9Tdi and would like to replace it with one that has got the trip computer etc if possible. I have looked behind the panel and other than the one lot of leads that plug into my existing one I can not see another plug that would go into the second socket on a new panel, could this be hidden and tied up somewhere? I did not do a thourough search.

I have just had a look at my metering pump(eyes full of muck) and noticed that 1 wire is not fixed to the pump, the connection that the wire used to connect to on the pump has completly come off. I will have to get a new metering pump now, I hope that was the reason why my heater did not start?

My instrument panel only has one plug on the back. There is a spare 6 pin female connector doing nothing tied in with the cables, would this be used on a new panel?

Well had another bash at replacing the glow plug, about 4 hours later(and a lot of swearing) job done after having to drill out a few bolts/screws. Fitted a new air intake hose and braket that fixes the unit to the vehicle. Tried shorting out temp-sensor but I expect the coolant was not cold enough for it to work, no good with my version of Vag-com(can't find 18) to clear out the fault codes and test it so I suppose it may have to be a trip to the dealer? though I have got some other test's to carry out first.

Galaxy Man, Per VW & SEAT W/S manual, G62 refers to the coolant temperature sender for the a/c switch-off. This passes info. to the ECU or radiator fan control unit to switch on the a/c clutch at high coolant temps. This unit is located on the near-side of the radiator. The coolant temp. sensor controlling the booster heater is located within the heater unit: In the D3W (3Kw unit >05/2000) unit the temperature sensor is part ref. G18 In the D5WZ (5Kw unit 06/2000>)from unit the temp. sensor is part ref. G241 Your 00522 DTC then does not seem to be related to the booster heater operation but you should probably check wiring and connections to G62 anyway. Regards, J.
