  1. Cheers. I have got onto the inhibit switch i think. Is it on the passenger side of the gear selector? It has 4 wires coming out of the connector. How do i go about shorting it out? Thanks
  2. Thanks, Where abouts is the inhibitor switch. Is it on the top of the box? (as in accessed from inside the car?) Will have a look at that one this morning. I tried the turn the key quickly idea frogeye but it makes no difference. I have a red LED to the right of the steering wheel but cant see one on the door card.
  3. Thanks for that. I tried the brakes straight away and the lights were coming on fine. You can here the click as you press the brakes and it releases the gear lever to allow you to move out of park. Right now I'm thinking its the starter solenoid as there is no change to the battery voltage across the fluke when i try to start the car. Does this sound right? If it was a manual I'd just bump start it to see but obviously cant as its an automatic. Any one else had this no start problem before?? Thanks
  4. Hi, First post so be kind! Went to start my car last night after it had been parked for three hours and it wont start. Ignition lights all come on fine but nothing. This morning i tested the battery and its fine. Its the v6 automatic so wondered how the neutral start system works on these. Ecu can be heard running through its self test when you turn on the ignition but getting no click at the starter solenoid. Not got in to test the started yet going to try that soon. Any one any ideas on this. I fix tanks for a living and they all have gearbox inhibitor switches to stop you starting it in drive. Do normal cars have the same systems? Any Help would be great. Thanks
