Hi, not sure how the fitting works but here's a couple of photos of my factory fit dvd system. Looks like overhanging the air vent is normal! Hope this helps but let me know if you need any more pics. Gary

Birchwood Ford in Hastings aren't much better. Took my car in for it's first 10k service on Saturday, knew it had a blown headlight beforehand but didn't mention it to them. When I got the car back I noticed the bulb was still blown, but the tick sheet showed they had 'inspected' the lights and that they were all ok. Doesn't inspire great confidence. Couldn't be bothered to tell them, will now change myself. Also denied my wife a courtesy car last time as she had 3 points on her licence (which had expired over 10 years ago). Said their insurers wouldn't cover it. Now, if we had moved house and applied for a new licence then the points would not have been shown as they are expired, so what does it matter??? Seems like she was penalised for not having moved house, which is crazy!!! Anyway, their overall service seems shoddy, courtesy cars are old 'Kas' if your've lucky, never wash your car either after a service. Overall, thoroughly recommended :-)

Personally, I had the wife done instead straight after number 3 was delivered by Caesarian. Cut and shut job, and far less painful for me - thoroughly recommended :-)

Thanks, I will give this a a go. We give Ford a lot of business and will be replacing the wife's Fiesta with a new one next year. I was just a bit suprised at Ford's lack of concern really.

Hi everyone, would be grateful to receive any advice on a problem with one of my remote keys. My Galaxy is about 4 months old now and the other week my remote control key stopped working (i.e. no little flashing red light when pressing the buttons and unable to lock/unlock doors remotely). As it's a Ghia, I do have another remote key but the wife keeps this one. Looking in the manual, it provides instructions on how to take the key apart and replace the battery which I assumed to be the problem. On opening the device, I noticed a lot of brown rust-like staining on the battery itself along with a white layer of deposit over the circuit board in the other half of the fob. I assumed the battery must have leaked and tested the key using the battery out of the working spare key. Unfortunately, it did not work so it seems that the key electronics have been damaged by the leaking battery. I also tested the stained battery in my spare remote key and this did not work either. So this battery was certainly dead. So I took the key to my Ford main dealer who took it into their little back room and came out a short while later stating that the fault had been caused by myself. They said that the 'rust' must have been caused by infiltrating water rather than a leaking battery and suggested that I had dropped my keys in a puddle at some point. Now I most certainly have never dropped my keys in any water and always take care in looking after them and keeping them safe. However, Ford are adamant and are refusing to replace under warranty and want me to pay

Hi, I think the auto only comes in the 115 flavour anyway. The 130 and 150 manuals are certainly spritely though.

My last TDI certainly demonstrated this behaviour and so far my new one appears to be following suit. Another example of finely calibrated Ford engineering?

Wow, what a debate !! Certainly won't be using them to hold drinks but I do remember the wife once putting an extra large McD's coke on the ledge below the windscreen just before I pulled away sharply at the lights. That one took a while to clean up too. deadpool2e the 150 is very nice, but test drove the 130 about 2 months ago and from memory I don' think the 150 is a huge performace improvement over this. But my last Galaxy was the 90bhp one so anything is going to be a marked improvement I think.

Thanks JToh, I don't think I will bother Ford about it but the brochure does make the point that the Zetec/Ghia models have this feature above the LX. I'm also sure my friends Seat Alhambra does have the backlights!!! Don't think I'll use the holders anyway as my last one kept spilling McD's Coke down the radio seizing up all the buttons.

Hi everyone. I have just picked up my new tdi Ghia from the dealer and have a quick question about the cup holders. In the brochure it states that these have 'backlights' but whilst driving last night noticed there is no illumination at all on them. Does anyone else know if this is an actual feature or not? I know it's quite a trivial matter but I'm just making a list of things to query. Ordered 2 child seats and only got one neck support and the rubber seal around both back doors was hanging off (noticed that top of doors weren't shut properly when I got home).
