Thanks for the quick reply. Its the BackPac 973 which states it is possible to add 4 bikes but for the Galaxy it indicates a maximum of 3 bikes for this type of vehicle. I think it was ok to put 4 bikes when 2 of them were small bikes but now the kids need large bikes I think it may be just to heavy to put 4 on the back.

I have a 2002 2.3 Zetec with a Thule bike carrier which is designed to carry 3 bikes. We fitted an extra part to carry a 4th bike so we could carry 2 adult bikes and 2 kids bikes. I don't know if it would be safe to carry 4 adult size bikes on this carrier and wonder if it would be safer to buy a roof carrier for the 4th bike. Does anyone know where I can find out what the maximum weight is for carrying bikes on the back of the Galaxy?
