is that a couple of spare rear door handles or do you mean the spare set is the original handles with key lock in???

hi guys. i have a mk1 v6 galaxy and have just had a clifford alarm fitted which obviously does total closure and deadlocking etc. i want to take the front door handles off (the ones with the key hole) and replace them with rear door handles as these look to be identical except for no key hole to be attacked. has anyone done this or know if they are a direct replacement or will i have to swap the lock mechanism as well as the handles????? cheers in advance guys dan

sorry mate, i chucked the wrapping after fitting them so i ain't got the code. the kits are handed anyway so the code might not be the right one (ie drivers door or pass door) i got my kit through brother in laws account with german and swedish http://www.gsfcarparts.com ring your local branch with your reg number and they should be able to sort it. hope this helps dan

hi guys, i have just removed the multichanger from my mk1 galaxy as i am upgrading the stereo and wondered if anyone wanted it. it's a 6 disc changer that fits in the drivers rear cubby hole. it comes complete with the foam mould for inside the cubby hole. pm me with an offer if anyones interested otherwise it will go on ebay!!!

info only german and swedish do a repair kit for the windows. kit is basically a full new mechanism without the motor. costs about 45 quid + vat hopefully fitting it tomorrow.......

what temp should the oil be at when running. i only ask 'cos i am sure it ran at about 105-110 constant when up to temp but i've recently noticed that when sat at traffic lights the oil temp drops to as low as 80 degrees then picks up again when moving. i have checked the oil level which is fine (sat bang in the middle of the indicator) the car is a 98 ghia x v6 2.8 manual

hi everyone, cruise control on my mk1 gal doesn't seem to work (i followed the instructions!!!!) is there a knack to it or is it broke???? is it a case for vag-com to reset it???? cheers for any info

hi everyone. finally got myself the galaxy (2.8 v6 7 seater ghia x). i knew the drivers front door had problems when i bought it but..... i need to get hold of 2 x clamp plates for the bottom of the window and the two plastic runners that are attached to the vertical arms in the door that are pulled up and down by wires controlled by the motor. (i hope that makes sense) i went into ford today with the stripped mechanism in hand and pointed to the bits i need. they then told me i had to but a whole new machanism at about 150 quid. anyone know if these are available elsewhere? or has anyone got one out of a car they stripped???? cheers in advance dan

i know that the mk1 v6 galaxy's use the vw vr6 engine so i would imagine that they are pretty much bomb proof but what mileage are they good for assuming they have been looked after and serviced regularly? i am asking because i am possibly looking at a high milage example cheers in advance

is it possible to change the middle row of seats on a six seater to seats without armrest and make it into a seven seater - i assume its just a case of exposing the appropriate seat anchor points? is it this easy or am i being daft?????

yup - i haven't bought the car yet but definately want climate as i don't like the hot/cold/hot/cold cycle of aircon in my wifes pug 206. i'll be upgrading from a mk2 fiesta so i suppose anything will be better!!!!!

ok guys - thanks for the replies. i'm not too shy with rewiring or ripping shit about! but it seems that it would be a lot easier to but the galaxy with c/c already in. i just asked as i have been looking locally for a v6 galaxy that falls in the 5k mark and i only found one which had c/c. it was a nice looking ultima model but had already been sold when i got to the garage!!! nevermind - just means i will have to keep looking 8-)

hi guys, do you know if it is possible to upgrade from normal aircon to climate control? if it is, i imagine its a case for vagcom, with new climate control switches etc. anyone done it or is it a def no no???? cheers

what are the parking sensors like that come on the galaxy as my wife will also have access to the car!!!!!

have you got any photos of your install? and how did you wire the tv's in the headrests? have you got them wired through a multiplug for power and video signal so that the seats are still removeable?

woof woof! ha ha yup, that pretty much sums me up. like i said, you should see my current car - 2 x batteries 1 x computer 1 x line driver 1 x digital eq 2 x amplifiers 2 x 15" subs 1 x pr 6x9 speakers 1 x 3 way component set 1 x bass processor 1 x 15" monitor 2 x 7" monitors 1 x nitrous bottle and all squeezed into a mk 2 fiesta that has space for four people!
