thanks pal, really apreciate the information, got a service book that says timing belt replaced 63000 miles. was suspicious of the service book as the writing of the timing belt change seemed to be a afterthought written in a margin. ;) cheers mick

hi big kev and mikej. i should have mentioned that i have never driven this car yet, and on a site i was looking at they qouted five and six speed for a mk2. the reason i have not driven it is, i'am disabled and i'am getting adaptions put on the car at the moment. thanks for your opinons on the mk2, just one more chain or timing belt. cheers mick

Hi Mick.....and welcome. Thanks for your comments...however I would describe my knowledge as limited and i rely on mainly relaying information from more technically aware members. This manual is actually for a Left-hand drive Seat Alhambra so should be 99% ok for the Mk2 Galaxy....other than the controls will may be rversed left/right but should still be very helpful. Don't know when the 6 speed boxes came in....however it should be kind of obvious whether 6th is there or not :)

hi kev. i'am well impressed with your knowledge of galaxys and a big thank-you for the download for owners manual. i have just bought a galaxy mk2 lx 16v 2001 reg could you please clarify a couple of points for me,is this model five or six speed decal missing from gear stick, timing belt or chain, does the download apply to mk2, bought a new downpipe exhaust a proper one from motor factor, any "do's and dont's" for fixing same!. thank's for your time mick
