  1. Thanks for the advice by the way. This site has made me feel much more attached to my Galaxy.
  2. Success! There are some deceptive holes on the lockring that look like they should accept the three lugs from the door connector. Once I pushed the door connector past these lugs, so the lockring rotates freely then I could plug in the socket, then use the srewing action of the lockring to push the door connector home. Just got to worry about the split boot. I feel a cycle innertube bodge coming on... :16:
  3. Limited success. If i plug the sockets together without the lock ring then I can confirm that the electrics are good. I tried "screwing" the door connector to the piller connector but only managed to tear the rubber boot :16: Is this the right approach? (obviously not the boot tearing bit!) Next I removed the lockring and screwed that into the piller, then tried to fit the door connector bayonnet style. Couldn't make a connection as I couldn't seem to push the connector home. Really don't wan't to admit defeat on this, but my fingers are a mess from trying to reconnect the darn thing I'm going to examine this purple pin...
  4. Is there some secret trick that I don't know about to reconnect the sockets between the door pillar and the driver's door? I disconnected them to inspect for broken wires as my central locking and power window weren't working. I found a broken (brown) wire which I fixed with a crim connector but I cannot for the life of me reconnect the sockets. The retaining ring keeps pinging off and I'm confused about where to align the sockets before attempting to screw them together. I don't want to force it and break bits. My Galaxy is an 05 1.9tdi ghia (130). NB I have sorted my parking sensor faults thanks to this site :16:
