what other gear box will fit a 1.8 (100) galaxy it is a 5 speed box will a mondeao or s-max fit

i have a 56 1.8 diesel galaxy has done a lot of miles but the heater when i swith the blowers on it is like it is only blowing on the lowest seting it does not have climat it just has 4 seatings ind is like it is just on number 1 any one have an idea of the problim
