Bought from a private seller with full service history and reciepts, car was driving fine the 67 miles home then gears slipped and died, paid 1750 for the car all the money we had saved, after getting home we had a good check of the details and the service history didn't match the same country as the MOT's, and it turn's out the service history has been falsified, googled the name of the seller and his address(only got those details on the way to see car) only to find out the seller owns a dealership and his wife is going into bankruptsy and their house was up for sale (although sign was not in garden when we were there) he had said car was their family car for last 6 years but after contacting previouse owners we found out car was a trade in 1 week before we bought it, loads more bit's and bobs were found out but Police and consumer direct dealing with it, However as my husband is rather tall and large (ex-bouncer) he got 1300 back from the guy, and we still have car, however if it was me that went back to him for the money i don't think i would have come away with anything, thanks for your replies guys
