hi all just got my vag com lead today so been having a look, cleared all fault codes only one keeps coming back is a/c pressure switch? (advise on replacement welcome) the other thing is the maf reading! standard says 295.7 but actual is 478.2 at idle. what i need to know is, is this ok or is there something wrong?? cheers mark

hi been reading a few of the recent posts and need a bit more help? with ref to the post (5th gear/turbo problem) i have removed the under cover, air intake pipe to the turbo to check the vanes and they seem to be moving ok (do stick somtime) but the question i need answering is about the wastgate actuator? when you say does it feel sticky, should it move by hand? i have took the vacum pipe of and tried blowing/sucking (gone dizzy a few times but nothing moves) also tried moving the arm but have to use a large screwdriver and even then it needs alot of force to move it? should it move alot more freely than that?? if anyone could give any good advise i will be under the car for the next hour or so and maybe someone could talk me through a few things my number is 077********* and i will ring you back (save anyone credit or min's) kind regards mark DO THIS THROUGH THE SAFETY OF THE PM AREA.

sound like a similar problem to mine, no pick-up and wont go over 80'ish just put new injector nozzles in (.216) but still no differance. going to check turbo actuator tomorrow, does anyone know how to remove the turbo and give it good clean?? cheers mark

hi, right the nice shiny new nozzles arrived this morning so spent the day cleaning everything and fitting the nozzles, followed the instructions i got with them,and yes the car starts and drives. BUT these make no differance what so ever!! its just the same, no pick-up and slow as a snail i have checked for fuel/air leaks but everything is fine. Have i eveything correct or do i need to get it re-mapped?? or have i wasted

hi i am looking at buying a new set of injector nozzles (.216), i see quite a few have used the .205 ones? would anyone recommend the 151 BHP beasts as i would be putting them in my 97 1.9tdi 90 BHP and would like to know if its ok or will my engine just go BANG!!! cheers mark

sorry no pics (dont want to scare the s**t out of you all LOL). mine is also the 90ps version. when i put my foot down it takes ages to get upto 70 and stops at 90 (wont go no more) and it hates going up hill, it has had a brand new maf fitted and the egr has been blanked off. i just expected better from it (suppose im comparing it to my mondeo tdci 130). i have been looking at changing the injector nozzles to some .216 would anyone reccomend this or will it go BANG?

cheers kev. i noticed you have a 98 1.9tdi ghia x, mine is a 97 1.9tdi ghia x and is the slowest thing i have driven (my mams 93 1.0l automatic nissan micra is faster LOL) is it just mine or are they all the same? also the mpg is bad average 24 around town :( mark

does any know if a decat pipe will make any differance to performance/mpg and where is the best place to get one from (or can i just remove my one and smash out the inners and put it back on)? cheers mark

thanks but checked this and it seems fine (the ecu is behind the clocks) it seems to happen at arround 50mph and when trying to accelarate? could it be anything to do with the intercooler pipes?? also could it be a leak from the inlet manifold?? mark

hi my 1.9tdi gal is making a sucking noise from the passanger side dash when driving at arround 2-2500rpm i have replaced the vaccum pipes that go to the turbo and egr but it still does it also i have no pick up at all? any ideas? cheers mark

tightened pump and now works great. many thands for all your help. mark

how do i check the belt as i cant see the pump?? would you reccomened if i changed the fluid? mark
