  1. Its just with my Petrols and the old alhambra i had the oil light would not go out till i started the engine. If this oli light on the 130 is ment to stay on till the engine starts i've got issues there already
  2. Something else up with my 04 plate tdi 130. From when i first had it, when you turn the key but not start the engine all of the warning lights would come on and then go out except the battery light and handbrake warning light. The oil light would go out without the engine running, is this normal. Reason i ask because running it tonight the light goes out without the engine running and after a few mins of the engine running the light has come on. This is quite a worry but as the gearbox has been out im wondering if somethings been knocked. Any advise would be great Thanks
  3. Well its stripped down and half back together. Yeah flywheel is well knackard as i thought. Hopefully up and running tomorrow
  4. It had J&R shafts on it. What a pile of Cr@p. Replacements on tomorrow.i've got a spare 6 speed box and a solid flywheel kit. I understand what people are saying but i read elsewhere alot have swarn by them. So as a bit of a tester im going to fit it tomorrow and see how it goes. Will let you guys know as time goes by.

  8. Been chasing leaks since i got this thing. Solved 1, was leaking from the oil filter cover so bought an oil filter kit. Euro seems to have given me the wrong one but the seal was ok so fitted it. No leak from there anymore. Been on a run and yet 3 oil runs on the sump

After the issues i've had on the way home i was on the M42 doing 60, put my foot down to get around a truck and the dreaded slip happened, returned to after without me taking my foot off the gas. So with the rattle and wobble still there after a replacement shaft and now this slipping at speed its time to have the gearbox out. I know Daddyfix does not like solid flywheels and the lack of good secondhand duel mass ones on ebay i think its going to have to be a solid flywheel kit. After buying the car and spending money on getting it back on the road £200 is all i've got to sling at it. Anyone else on here done a solid conversion?
  10. Will this cause me issues of just rattle. Rattle i can live with for now. Cheapest i can see on ebay is £212 for a complete kit (solid flywheel). I'ld be buggered if i'll spend £350 on a duel mass kit lol
  11. Hmm shuts up when you drive it a bit get nothing afterwards. If its playing up it will get a solid flywheel replacement!
  12. Well going to look at it tomorrow but starting it this morning i got quite alot of rattling from the box. Starts then stops and stops if i put my foot on the clutch. Once warmed up and moved it cant hear anything. Thinking it could be low on gearbox oil or first motion shaft! Also begining to wonder this is the cause of my wobble! Still got a replacement shaft, new seal and oil so will fit it all after work tomorrow and try it out.
  13. Yeah was looking at that in the handbook and could'nt make head nor tail of it. Only thing i dont have is a star driver socket that big for the filler plug. Cant see that one bolt not coming up without me getting the heat on it. Still will sort it one way or another. Cheers mate
  14. My wobble at between 10 and 20 mph returned today again
  15. My old 2.3 petrol could sit that high in traffic till the fan cuts in. Not quite loud enough to hear it with the bonnet shut. Just open the bonnet when you can get it that hot again and you'll hear it. As it does not creep up any higher i'ld say its got to be working ok.
  16. Wobble sorted i think. Changed the front near side wheel and put on the spare. Its made all the difference. Unreal as i would have thought it would also wobble like that on over run but not. Might just be the fact i've jacked it up and the driveshafts moved about but im thinking it could be that rim and tyre.

  18. Went to Trust Ford (used to be Heartlands Ford) and they say its Platinum so service book was right. Say no code for it so i thought err ok. Managed to get it. Was a Volkswagon Platinum and just stuck alittle more white in it to make it lighter. Shows Halfords do have some good guys working there
  19. Hi again. Im trying to get some paint made up and have the service book that tells me the colour is Platinum. Problem is Halfords tells me thay have no record of that colour. I found what i think is the id sticker on the top of the front strut on the drivers side. Again he saying nothing matches. I remember asking this question on my old mk1 galaxy around 6 years ago. Reg number is KN04BVE if anyone can shed some light on this that would be great. Thanks
  20. Right went to it this morning at the battery was almost flat. Only just managed to get it started. Good replacement now on it and the centrol locking is working off the remote. Radio i think is just a loose connection as it i push it in the radio stops working so think thats an easy sort. The wobble i get is between 10 and 20 mph so my mate seems to think its the intermediate shaft as he says this is a common fault. Done nothing with the towbar side of things yet
  21. Hi Brian I've got a friend here in the west mids who breaks Galaxy's for a living and who i bought this one from so a good second hand driveshaft should not be a problem. The lock, will give that a try, thank you as i had not thought of that one lol. Yeah sounds like the tailgate can be a pain in the backside so will have a look later when i try to chase the towbar wiring. To be fair i cant moan as the car only cost me a grand with a recon head that he had to replace the one with bent valves.
  22. Tried Re programming the key. Get the light to stay on but getting nothing from the remote. Yeah thought drive shaft myself. Know about the rubbish wiring around the door gators but not looked as yet. Tailgates a new one on me so will take a look. Not so bothered about the key just would be nice to have that option. Thought the tow bar wiring might be so will grab a look in daylight. Thank you for the pointers mate
  23. I bought a 04 plate Galaxy TDI 130. Stripped cam belt so was a non runner. All rebuilt, brakes sorted ect but still have a few issues you guys might be able to shed some light on. I get a viberation went turning at low speed with power on. Dont get it with power off or higher speed. Im thinking maybe a drive shaft. The centrol locking works fine with the key but remote does nothing. Does light the LED though. Radio works when it feels like it and electric mirror on the drivers side does nothing. Only other small thing is its fitted with a factroy fitted tow bar with the removable swan neck. Problem is i got no key for it. Any chance i can get a replacement? Electrics been removed because of a damaged plug and the m.o.t lol. Is this a plug and play loom? Quite a list i know but nothing major, thanks guys.
  24. Vagcom wont read the engine ecu if you've got a ford engine. If you were closer i would have scanned it for you.

Bare in mind that you have to get the middle section off the Cat.Just for gods sake if you need to replace to cat and get it done at an exhaust centre,make sure you take the old cat with you. Goto EMR or somwhere like that and put it on the scales,You should walk away with about
