Anyone close to Birmingham got a vacuum gauge for setting up the activator on the turbo. I think that's the problem. Cheers

Well I finally got it all back together after a new gearbox, clucth, flywheel and wobble at 20 mph still there! Got to be a top mount as it's all that's left to do lol. Still I had a noise from the turbo I was not happy with and after changing all the pipework it was still there. I've now changed the core of the turbo and yep noise gone but now seems flat upto 2500rpm and goes like stink after that and really goes for it. Any ideas guys as I'm sure it was not that late in cutting in? Core was fitted by the guys on Pershore road in Birmingham as are good at what they do. Can't be going into limp mode as it's boosting at 2500. Cheers

How did you check the timing? Did you use a tool made for the job. I had the same sort of problem when i bought my 130. Belt was stripped and had issues getting the timing right. Bought the tool for the job and all is well. Only other thing the head you bought secondhand?

Cheers mate. Got to sort the gearbox before i do anything else. Still im lucky enough to have a few Galaxys to fall back on. Back to the mk2 2.3 and LPG lol

Did you fit a secondhand turbo?

Alot say they use single mass on a Galaxy and swear by them. Its no biggie i'll just return it and get refunded. Sling sone bearings in this box and off we go again. Thought about buying another box as the spare i thought i had and some how gone missing :/ Im not going to pay £300 quid for a secondhand gearbox off ebay so will rebuild this one of buy another car with a good box if i can grab something cheap enough i can make my money back with breaking it.

Right this i might be able to help you with. Did you do an oil and filter change? If not i'ld drain your oil, renove the sump and clean it all out. Check and clean your strainer too. I also fitted another oil pump as i had one knocking around. I had the same sort of problem. I dont anymore and light troubles me no more.

What year mate. Mines an 04 plate and its under the oil filter housing on the block just above the sump (front of the engine). Quite hard to get to i found. If its an early on they are located on the side of the oil filter housing

Its offical. Single mass flywheel kit from Nationwide Clutchs are no good! The rattle i've got from my gearbox now is unreal. After getting things sorted i took it out and its like driving a bag od spanners. Gearbox back out job now lol.

Yeah very true. Still all is good the only things left to do is replace the intercooler to turbo pipe as I think it's leaking and find that noise I posted about a week ago. Hard to pin point it but will find it with some help lol

Always steered clear of flushing. Last time i flushed an engine 2.3 galaxy it cost me an engine. Cam chain started rattling alot of top of other things so i've always steered clear since

Thick oil in the bottom of the sump found. Thick enough to cause me issues, may well be. Im replacing the oil pump anyway, cleaning out the strainer but to be fair its not blocked just had all this thick crud all around it and replacing with fresh oil and new oil filter. If this does not solve the problem im at a loss

Thanks mate thats fine. I thought that was the case. Going to have a the sump off later and see what i find. Will let everyone know my findings

I have one going spare in Tamworth West Mids

No new switch and still does it :( Going to drop the sump and take a look at the strainer and oil pump. It will tick over all day without it coming on and it's only if I give it a few high revs it starts to flicker. I'm thinking it's crap in the strainer

My work mates vw bora as a pd in it and his does the same thing. Turn the key but not start the engine the lights go out. Just want to find someone with a galaxy with a pd in to see what theres does. Engine never got a chance to get hot. Plenty of oil in it. Light is flashing so going to get one at lunch and give it a try
