Vagcom Error Codes
studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Tried that, made no difference. The door would not open when i lent in and tried to open from outside. I noticed when i hold the lock button on the key that it locks the car and the led on the door panel flashes. When i press it quickly twice the light goes out but the doors are still locked.I assume this is disabling the immobiliser. Where they fitted at all on this model? -

not a good answer .... but try opening the windows, locking the car give it a couple of min and put your arm in and wave it about :16: tried that, nothing happened. Maybe i put the wrong arm in. Should i put the left arm in then out then in and shake it all about? :16: -

Checked for the sensors in the door pillars and couldn`t see any. Did notice a fuse missing f54 and replaced it but never noticed any change. Is there a way to test? -

studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Ok, Will have a look for the sensors and fuses tomorrow. I had my aircon filled last year and the console stopped flashing. But after about 3 days it started flashing again and the aircon wasn`t cold anymore. first thought is maybe there is a leak. -

studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sorry, My profile used to show up with make model etc.. but the forum script must have changed since then. Will update. 1998 MK1 Ford Galaxy 1.9Tdi 110bhp I didn`t notice any sensor on the pillars. Where would i locate the fuse for this? Regards -
Hi, My Cousin got a vagcom system the other day and plugged it into my car. Ran a few tests and got these codes: Address 08: Auto HVAC Part No: 7M0 907 040 AS Component: CLIMATRONIC MPV V110 Coding: 00013 Shop #: WSC 00020 1 Fault Found: 65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error 00-00 - - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 09: Cent. Elect. Part No: 7M0 962 258 F Component: Multifunkt.Einheit 0001 Coding: 04097 Shop #: WSC 00021 2 Faults Found: 01135 - Interior Monitoring Sensors 35-10 - - - Intermittent 00965 - Fuse for Alarm Horn (S158) 37-00 - Faulty Could someone help me in identifying what they are. I think the first one has something to do with the aircon. Could the second one have something to do with an alarm. I never knew my car had an alarm so if i could get it working that would be great. Any help would be appreciated Regards

Where To Find Engine Type Code ?
studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
After a lot of phone calls a friend of mine checked with Auto Data and said it was a 1Z or AHU. Does this sound right? -
Hi, I am going to put a replacement engine into my 1998 mk1, 1.9tdi, 110bhp. The sticker on the belt cover under the bonnet has worn off and can`t be read. Someone suggested looking in the boot but i don`t seem to see one there. I need it so that i can tell the breakers for a replacement. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, The cc panel on mine was doing the same. After about 15secs it would stop flashing. I had my air con regassed and after it was filled the panel stopped flashing at start up. After about a week it started flashing again. I was told that there must be a leak. So will leave it in to get checked out. The mechanic who is a friend of mine who works for an Iveco garage said that the panel was flashing because it needed regassing. Maybe you to have a leak.

studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanks for the reply, my friend is using a vag pod whatever that is and it read a fault with the " metering system" ?? cheers -
I was driving along this afternoon when the glowplug heater light started flashing in the dash, any idea as to what it could be?. Then it stopped but a little while later the car died as i was driving along. I pulled in and started it and it ran o.k. Took it to a friend and he checked the codes. It read p01268 Anyone got an idea as to what this code means? Cheers

S.o.s Someone Please Help
studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I was talking to a Volkswagen mechanic this evening and he said that this was a common problem with Golfs and the local Volkswagen dealer keeps the inner pulley and bolt in stock at all times. Because of their ignorance, the ford dealer is charging me. Surely when they removed the outer pulley they should have checked to see why it was wobbling in the first place. Now after 6 weeks in and out of the garage they have eventually arrived at this conclusion and will probably charge me at least -

update tuesday, Got a phone call from the dealer and they told me that the timing was out a tooth again. They set it and the car started with a half turn. When i asked what was the reason for this they said they were going to strip it down and check around the bottom pulley again and check the end of the crank. They phoned this evening and said that the face of the inner pulley was badly worn as was the face of the crank itself. They suggested putting a second hand engine in -

Update Friday Called in to the dealers to see what was happening, They said they don`t know what is wrong with the car that everytime they fix something another problem arises. I asked whether the 2 pipes they replaced made any difference and they replied No. I said were do we go from here then, and they said "we`ll have to get another look at it on Monday" If they can`t fix it who can? Does this mean i will have to scrap it? Cheers guys -

Update, Car went in to the dealers yesterday after 2 machenics bled the injectors again and then scratched their heads saying "we`ll have to put it on the machine again". I asked for a coutesy car but they were booked up a week in advance. they told me they would try and get a look at the car last night or today, so i rang up at lunchtime today and they said they were going to put 2 new pipes on coming from the filter to the diesel pump. I asked them to do a compression test on the engine but they said the compression was o.k I`ll just have to wait and hope againnnnnnn. I hope they have it ready for the summer as i have a caravan 2 kids and a missus hoping for a holiday soon Cheers -

Thanks for the prompt replies guys, I phoned the Ford Dealer yesterday evening and they are coming this morning to collect the car, Will keep you informed. They did say on the phone that this is a different problem again but the way i see it is that they fitted the fuel filter last week and surely it is their responsability to fix their mistake. ??? -

I think the dealer is actually holding there hands up and saying we don`t know what`s wrong. As i bought the car privately they are saying that whoever has been at it before has made a mess of the car and it wpild seem as though they don`t want to work at it. I am out of options. -
I am at my wits end, I have posted before with this sort of problem and, Here goes Bought the car at the end of Feb, drove it for 4 days, then it refused to start So i left it in with my local Ford dealers and after 2 wks they replaced the bottom Crankshaft pulley and aux pulley reset the timing on the cam. It drove for 1 day then refused to start again. So the next day left it in again 2 wks later they told that their was no fuel in the fuel filter so they replaced that and a valve on the top of it (injector needle or something like that). Next morning same thing again. So they put it back on the computer and said that the brain was faulty as it wasn`t sending a signal to the glowplug relay to heat them They told me that either they would have to fit a new brain at

Hi guys, just an update to a question i posted earlier. I have a 98 Galaxy 1.9tdi Gia. I bought it 4 wks ago Private and since then it has been to 2 garages and then the Ford dealers. The dealers replaced 2 pulleys i.e the Crank pulley and an auxilliary pulley. When i got the car home i noticed that the pulley was wobbling. Returned to the ford dealer and they told me that they thought the crank might me damaged on the inside. I asked when they had the pulleys off, did they see that the crank was damaged in any way ? they replied no. They said the car was now fine and i should have no problems with it. I tried to start the car this morning and guess what?. the car wouldn`t start. I am going to tow the car to the dealers on Monday morning. I`m sure they will come up with some story to palm me off but, The car was left in to get fixed and it is obvious that it isn`t, can i ask them to put it right at no expense to myself?.I have already spent

98 Galaxy Gia 115bhp Starting Problems
studiodemon replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
sorry my appologies it is 110bhp. I don`t know that much about cars just the basics. If it turns out that the crankshaft is worn or damaged, should the dealers have notified me before proceeding to put the new parts onto a faulty crank? -
I purchaesd a 1998 Galxy Gia 115bhp Diesal 4 weeks ago (private) and it wouldn`t start after 1wk, I then left it in to my local Ford dealer and after 2wks they fitted a new crank pulley and fan belt pulley , it is now running o.k but there is a wobble on the crank pulley. The mechanic in the dealers said it would be fine but i was talking to another mechanic after i took the car home and he said that i should go back and ask why there is a wobble.Any suggestions?. He also said that it might be that the crankshaft is damaged or worn. If so the dealers should have informed me of this before preceeding , as it could happen again. Would i be right in bringing the car back and asking them to rectify the wobble as i would not be comfortable driving the car in case it breaks down again? Cheers
