  1. I don`t have anything like that on mine. Its just flat
  2. Tried that, made no difference. The door would not open when i lent in and tried to open from outside. I noticed when i hold the lock button on the key that it locks the car and the led on the door panel flashes. When i press it quickly twice the light goes out but the doors are still locked.I assume this is disabling the immobiliser. Where they fitted at all on this model?
  3. not a good answer .... but try opening the windows, locking the car give it a couple of min and put your arm in and wave it about :16: tried that, nothing happened. Maybe i put the wrong arm in. Should i put the left arm in then out then in and shake it all about? :16:
  4. Checked for the sensors in the door pillars and couldn`t see any. Did notice a fuse missing f54 and replaced it but never noticed any change. Is there a way to test?
  5. Ok, Will have a look for the sensors and fuses tomorrow. I had my aircon filled last year and the console stopped flashing. But after about 3 days it started flashing again and the aircon wasn`t cold anymore. first thought is maybe there is a leak.
  6. Sorry, My profile used to show up with make model etc.. but the forum script must have changed since then. Will update. 1998 MK1 Ford Galaxy 1.9Tdi 110bhp I didn`t notice any sensor on the pillars. Where would i locate the fuse for this? Regards
  7. Hi, My Cousin got a vagcom system the other day and plugged it into my car. Ran a few tests and got these codes: Address 08: Auto HVAC Part No: 7M0 907 040 AS Component: CLIMATRONIC MPV V110 Coding: 00013 Shop #: WSC 00020 1 Fault Found: 65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error 00-00 - - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 09: Cent. Elect. Part No: 7M0 962 258 F Component: Multifunkt.Einheit 0001 Coding: 04097 Shop #: WSC 00021 2 Faults Found: 01135 - Interior Monitoring Sensors 35-10 - - - Intermittent 00965 - Fuse for Alarm Horn (S158) 37-00 - Faulty Could someone help me in identifying what they are. I think the first one has something to do with the aircon. Could the second one have something to do with an alarm. I never knew my car had an alarm so if i could get it working that would be great. Any help would be appreciated Regards
  8. After a lot of phone calls a friend of mine checked with Auto Data and said it was a 1Z or AHU. Does this sound right?
  9. Hi, I am going to put a replacement engine into my 1998 mk1, 1.9tdi, 110bhp. The sticker on the belt cover under the bonnet has worn off and can`t be read. Someone suggested looking in the boot but i don`t seem to see one there. I need it so that i can tell the breakers for a replacement. Any ideas? Thanks
  10. Hi, The cc panel on mine was doing the same. After about 15secs it would stop flashing. I had my air con regassed and after it was filled the panel stopped flashing at start up. After about a week it started flashing again. I was told that there must be a leak. So will leave it in to get checked out. The mechanic who is a friend of mine who works for an Iveco garage said that the panel was flashing because it needed regassing. Maybe you to have a leak.
  11. thanks for the reply, my friend is using a vag pod whatever that is and it read a fault with the " metering system" ?? cheers
  12. I was driving along this afternoon when the glowplug heater light started flashing in the dash, any idea as to what it could be?. Then it stopped but a little while later the car died as i was driving along. I pulled in and started it and it ran o.k. Took it to a friend and he checked the codes. It read p01268 Anyone got an idea as to what this code means? Cheers
  13. I was talking to a Volkswagen mechanic this evening and he said that this was a common problem with Golfs and the local Volkswagen dealer keeps the inner pulley and bolt in stock at all times. Because of their ignorance, the ford dealer is charging me. Surely when they removed the outer pulley they should have checked to see why it was wobbling in the first place. Now after 6 weeks in and out of the garage they have eventually arrived at this conclusion and will probably charge me at least
  14. update tuesday, Got a phone call from the dealer and they told me that the timing was out a tooth again. They set it and the car started with a half turn. When i asked what was the reason for this they said they were going to strip it down and check around the bottom pulley again and check the end of the crank. They phoned this evening and said that the face of the inner pulley was badly worn as was the face of the crank itself. They suggested putting a second hand engine in
  15. Update Friday Called in to the dealers to see what was happening, They said they don`t know what is wrong with the car that everytime they fix something another problem arises. I asked whether the 2 pipes they replaced made any difference and they replied No. I said were do we go from here then, and they said "we`ll have to get another look at it on Monday" If they can`t fix it who can? Does this mean i will have to scrap it? Cheers guys
