Hey thanks :) Point taken about engine wear and other downsides.. although having had it not working for 3 years I'm fearing we've probably done the worst of it now! I guess, it being a nine year old car, I'm looking for fast and dirty - and cheap - fixes now..and I don't feel I have the skills or tools to do the plug/clean myself (despite the lovely photos). I tried (I thought) fuse 12 on the basis of the advice higher up.. but the car stalled down the road and wouldn't restart until I plugged it back in (so I'm guessing it was linked!). I assumed that maybe the fuses were numbered differently in an Alhambra? Thanks!
