Hi All, I have a ford galaxy 2002/52reg 1.9 tdi auto,turning steering left to right has a creaky sound and vibration. If i turn the steering wheel slightly left to right the vibration sound goes. Ihave checked the alternator pulley by taking the tension off and it free wheels anti-clockwise. My alternator is a bosch 120amp. Am i checking the alternator pulley correctly? Could it be the power steering pump? Any suggestions Many Thanks in advance. Iam based in south east not scotland...........

Hi there The pulley on the alternator has a clutch inside it they can make a sound similar to the belt slipping more so when engine just been started they usually pack up around the 90000 mls, also the belt tensioner can give a vibrating rattle when engine ticking over

Good Evening To All. Galaxy 1.9 tdi auto ghia 2002/52 reg I would like some advice on a Galaxy i have just purchased. 1...Automatic temperature control unit has a rattle or ticking noise coming from it,is this common.. 2...Passengers side front door central locking when locked with the remote sometimes locks but not always.,any ideas!! 3...What oil should i use when having a oil change? Hope someone can help....... Many Thanks..
