  1. Update on this problem. After several visits to my local dealer, they reckon they have identified the fault as being the 'Body Contrlo Module'. Car has been with them for 3 weeks and they started fitting the part on Thursday. It is now Saturday and my car is still not ready. Anyone know what the 'Body Control Module' is/does? and why it would take so long to fit. Colin
  2. I have a Mk3 2.2D Galaxy. I have an intermittent problem where tha Engine Malfunction warning (Picture of a warning triangle and spanner) shows in the console display. It is sometimes accompanied by a loss of power or occasional dips in power. If I turn the engine off and restart it usually clears and runs ok although sometimes I have to stop start the ignition a few times. It is also sometimes associated with a hot smell from the engine bay and when I switch the engine off, the engine fan runs on for around 5 minutes. I have had the car checked by my local ford dealer 3 times and they have not been able to replicate or locate the problem. Any ideas? Colin
  3. Thanks for the diagram, Can you explain what the 'Green' symbol is that is numbered '2' in the last diagram. I can't figure it out. Colin
  4. Hi, I have a very annoying rattle which sounds like it is coming from inside the driver side B-Pillar (top section). I have unclipped the B-Pillar trim bottom & top halves, but can't see anything obvious. I suspect it may be coming from around the seatbelt anchor / airbag area. I dont want to attempt completely removing the top trim because the airbag is located there and I'm not sure that if I prize the top trim off, will it upset the airbag? Any suggestions welcome. Colin
  5. I recently bought a May 2009 Galaxy 2.2 TDCI Ghia with 15000 miles on it. I had covered around 120 miles with no problems. Today I went for a 5 mile drive and when I was parking I could smell a 'hot fumes' type smell. Switched off the engine and popped open the bonnet. The fan continued to operate for a full 10 minutes after switching the engine off and the smell (with a litttle smoke that seemed to be coming from the front of the engine compartment) gradually subsided. The temperature gauge showed normal throughout the journey. After the fan stopped I waited 5 minutes and then turned the ignition on - the display showed 'engine malfunction'. I waited another 5 minutes and turned the ignition on again - this time there was no warning message. I am scared of driving the car again until I have some idea of what caused this. I intend to contact the Ford dealer tomorrow and wondered if anyone else had experienced similar problems?
