  1. Hi, I'm trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor but cannot locate it. Can anyone steer me in the right direction. Does anything need removing to access it? etc. Thanks in advance.
  2. It's the 5000 RDS with bootloader. It's consistant flashing.
  3. The other day I was cruising along the motorway at 80mph and the engine suddenly lost all power (wouldn't go above 500rpm) and the esp light came on. Any ideas what it is and if it's serious? To clear it all I had to do was quickly switch off the engine and restart.
  4. Hi all, Some more questions I'd like to throw out there. My neighbour has just got a 2002 Galaxy Ghia 1.9TDI and there's a couple of things that are baffling us so here goes. The stereo display constantly flashes when it's on. Everything works fine but we can't find a way to stop the flashing. The climate control display flashes for a while and the returns to normal operation. I noticed when you turn the blowers off the display show "1" instead of "off". I've also got a question about my own ongoing saga trying to get my remote locking working. Is there a procedure to de-programme a key? We're going to do some expeimenting with the keys and don't want to permenantly be able to unlock each others cars (potentially).
  5. I had some DVD issues and found these documents. Hope they're useful.Ger_In_Car_Ent_Fitt_Inst.pdf MB_8000EN.pdf
  6. Yes, that works fine. I also replaced the batteries in the key as a precaution.
  7. It's all working fine now. I gave in and took it to an audio specialist. Cost
  8. Hi, I've been searching through the forum for the same problem I'm having but didn't find anything so here goes: I'm trying to get the remote central locking working. I've followed the instructions clearly and it just won't work. The car enters it's learning mode, the key flashes 5 times but the light on the door just stays on and won't give me a flash. I know I'm doing the procedure right because I successfully managed it on a friends Alhambra. His remote locking had never worked, a few seconds later and it was fully functional. Any ideas?
  9. I dismantled it all to check out the fuse. It was fine. I briefly managed to get it working for a few minutes. Both screens were on but only the drivers side was showing a picture. I was unaware about holding the screen button for 10 seconds. I remember seeing a PDF file showing installation instructions (to help me understand the wiring) but haven't been able to find it again. Any tips?
  10. This was the right place so here goes again: Hi, I picked up a 53 Galaxy at the weekend but have discovered the dvd player is non functional (I'll admit just a minor inconvenience). The kids are keen on me fixing it but I don't know where to start. There is no power at all. I've read elsewhere on the forum that there are a couple of fuses to check. I cannot see it indicated on the fuse card so I'm not sure what number it should be. Also, how do you gain access to the fuse on the back of the player? I tried removing the 4 screws from that little centre console thing but was still denied access. The DVD player has MB8000 written on it. Additionally although not ICE related, it would appear the parking sensors are unhappy. When you engage reverse it beeps briefly and the the button flashes, that's it though. I backed up to a wall until the towbar gave it a kiss and there was nothing. I'll admit there are a few things I'm still figuring out as I am still waiting for an owners handbook to arrive. Lovely car though!
