  1. Hi all, would like to ask if you could help. my 97 MK1 came back from a weekend 'loan' with a friend. the stereo left ok but came back dead..... I have since swapped out the stereo from a sony to a pioneer. now these are my symptoms. doesn't work on 'ON' setting (before ignition) doesn't work when engine started Only ever works when .... Hitting 60 mph on the motorwway, when exiting the said motorway ,as soon as parked up and after said journey (again..perfect). This got me starting thinking that the Alternator was at fault.... measured and....... 12.77v not running with all i could give it, (Lights, Heater etc).... 13.95v Now these seem normal (phew) but what can I check next?
  2. Thanks for your replies guys. I was afraid it would be something like that. i'll keep my eye on it and refurb it when i find a reasonably priced linkage unit. Really appreciate the help guys. No doubt I have loads more questions in the near future. Kind Regards George
  3. Hi, would anyone have a parts diagram for the Front Wiper Linkage? Drivers side wiper stopped working and when i went to investigate i found a link ball had popped out of its socket. i tried to get this to 'pop back in' to no avail. i had to remove the 'ball' part with a dremel as the nut was seized and ball heavily corroded and drill a hole through the plastic 'socket' part on the bottom rod to enable me to put a bolt/washer combo through as a temp fix. I don't want to replace the whole unit as it's just this one link i need to repair? Is it possible to just replace these parts? Kind Regards, George 1997 MK1 1998CC Galaxy
