Can anyone please advise me i have got a v6 Galaxy which is running rough,it starts straight away but when you go to rev it up it pops and backfires in the airbox and tries to cut out and also been cutting out at junctions.I plugged my lap top in and got the message(00553 mass air flow sensor (G70) 31-10 open or short to ground intermittent,could anyone please tell me what this means and if i change this maf thing will my vehicle rev up better. Hi can anyone please advise me on a problem i have got with a v6 Galaxy,I can get the vehicle to tick over but as soon as i press the accelerator the vehicle coughs and splutters if i keep pushing the accelerator up and down it eventually revs up but sometimes and sometimes it just back fires through the inlet manifold popping and back firing. I have noticed the front part of the exhaust is blowing a little and the cat stinks,I have plugged my obd cable in and all this has told me is i have got a dodgy temperature sender but the temperature guage works ok.Any advice will be most appreciated Many Thanks Adrian.

Hello everyone can anyone please help me i have got a problem with my wifes Galaxy v6 and its driving me mad, We lost the keys to the car unfortunately so i went out and bought a full set of locks and key from a Galaxy that was being scrapped,I then went out and bought the cable to plug into my car and lap top with the discs to load onto my computer, and i have also downloaded vag-com but its not letting me do this im just getting a message to register with vag-com. I have descided to abandon the vag-com idea and just get a locksmith out who can program the vehicle for me,the vag-com bit is to much for me to handle im useless on computers.My Galaxy is in Colchester Essex this is probably a long shot i was wondering if anyone knew of a company in the essex area that can re:program the ignition to the key for me because i cant find any anywere local, in my Yellow pages or Thomsons local any help will be much appreciated as i am getting fed up of this car and the wife moaning, that she wants her Galaxy back not the old Mondeo td ive put her in tempereraly for the last 7 months. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE I HAVE GOT A 1.9TDI GALAXY A 1996 MODEL,YESTERDAY I PULLED UP AT JUNCTION AND WHEN I WENT TO PULL AWAY AGAIN THERE WAS A BAG AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED LIKE IT HAD JUMPED OUT OF 1ST GEAR,I THEN PUT DOWN THE CLUTCH AGAIN AND SELECTED THE GEAR AGAIN AND THERE WAS NO DRIVE JUST A GRINDING NOISE LIKE TWO COGGS SPINNING AGAINST EACH OTHER. I CANT GET THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO ANY GEAR AND AND THE HIGHER GEAR I TRY TO SELECT THE LOUDER THE GRINDING IS,I HAVE CHECKED THE CABLES AND THEY SEEM TO BE OK AND I TRIED PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO GEARS WHILE SITTING STILL WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND HAVING SOME ONE PUSH ME BUT IT STILL ISNT IN GEAR, CAN ANYONE SHARE ABIT OF KNOWLEGE. :) MANY tHANKS ADRIAN

I telephoned Ford technical and they said they can sell me a new key but it wont have a chip so I wont be able to drive it, "what goods that",I had to drill out my ignition on the vehicle as i needed to move the vehicle as it was blocking in 6 parents cars on my drive from the party who had to leave them at mine till the next day,it was a saturday afternoon there were no Ford dealers open till Tuesday as it was a bank holiday weekend and people wanted their cars.

Hi can anyone please advise me on a little problem i have got with my Galaxy 2.8 V6 Ghia X R reg,We had a childrens birthday party recently and since the party our Galaxy keys have gone missing so we believe one of the children have taken them.I have seen on ebay someone was selling a full lock set and the box that picks up the chip in the the key for the immobilizer,and was wondering if anyone could tell me were this immobilizer transponder box is, i also have a Vw Sharan Tdi on a p reg which is probably the most ugly sharan on the road but its only a work horse,also would the locks a transponder boxes be the same so i can get the Galaxy running again. Can any one please advise me,My wife has a Mondeo 2.0 16v automatic which unfortunately recently over heated on her and instead of pulling over she just caried on driving home,I have removed the head from the car and have found a crack in the head so I need another head this one is finished and fit for the scrap heap.The problem I have got is the wifes Mondeo is a black top and I have managed to find another 2.0 black top head but it has a different part number which I will add in a moment,I have tried looking on the internet to try see if this head will go on the car but cant find anything at all,I have spoken to Ford Technical and they told me to go to a Ford dealer and ask them I did and they were useless they put my registation number into their computer and it came up with a number different to mine,This is probably a long shot some one knowing on here but its worth a try. Hi sorry to bother you all again i tried to set the key to work as described,and was told to turn the key in the drivers door 3 times to the right i did that, and apparently the red light on the door should flash my door led stays on perminent for about 5 seconds and then goes off,while the door led is lit i tried holding down the lock button and pressing the unlock button three times and the key bulb flashed 5 times but the drivers door bulb did nothing.Can anyone please advise me any more.Thanks Again Kwakzx62003

Can anyone please advise me as i cant find my Galaxy hand book to look for the information i need,my problem is my buttons to lock and unlock the vehicle on the key doesnt work i have replaced the batteries in the key the red light lights up ok and now im lost for ideas,the vehicles central locking works fine when you use the key in the door as does the alarm,any advise would be most appreciated.Thanks Kwakzx62003

Can any one advise me please my wife drives oor Ford Galaxy Tdi gear every day and im getting fed up of her moaning now that the vehicle keeps jumping out of 4th gear,i have taken it on a long drive today using 4th most of the journey and found that it does jump out of 4th only on left hand bends,i drove for miles in 4th around right hand bends and it stayed in gear perfect,i will also say that if you hold the gear stick in 4th it does jump out on left hand bends.Any advise with this problem with be mostly appreciated,Many Thanks Kwakzx62003

Hi i am new to this web site and was wondering if can help me or advise me please,i own a Ford Galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia my problem is my heater matrix has gone and has leaked all its water all over my carpet,i was wondering if any one could advise me were i can get another matrix.If not could any one tell me if there is anything i can fix the little hole in my original one,i have removed my dash and heater matrix and the hole is a little pin hole.Many Thanks For Any Advise Adrian (kwakzx62003)
