Hi All, as my lasts posts, i have done all i can with my abs system, i.e. changed rings, check connections etc, think i need a Vag Com check ??. Does any one in essex have this on there lap top who could pop to the Clacton on sea area and check my Galaxy for a drink ? Cheeky i know Many thanks Gary

Hi, i did go for a short drive over 20 but the light is still on !!! at my witts end now lol, how can i check the small readers that monitor the abs rings ?? is it an impedance issue ?? Cheers Gary

Hi, just changed the ABS rings on my 96 Galaxy but the ABS light is still on? also noticed that the hand break light stays on ??? Any help would be good !!! Cheers Gary

Hi, i am trying to locate 2 x front hub yield bolts for my 97 Galaxy, any ideas where i can get them as i am replacing the ABS ring and need to replace the hub bolts apparently !! Cheers Gary

Hi, just been told that my 1997 ford galaxy does not have the ABS rings but they are apart of the the hub bearing ?? is this correct? if so, why can i see a slotted ring sitting under the sensor ?? help !!! Gary

Hi, i will need to remove the drive shaft to install new ABS rings so here a few questions: anyone know where i can get the ABS Relucter rings, anew inner cir-clip and a new hub bolt (if necessary) as i cannot find the bolt and clip any where !! How does the new Relucter stay in place ? will i need to reset the abs warning light if i fix the rings etc.. Many thanks Gary

Hi All, as normal, just before MOT the abs light came on on my 97 ford galaxy 1.9 diesel. read on this forum to have a look at the abs rings so i did !!, I started on the front passenger side as predicted the drive cv joint was rusted and the sensor ring it self was in 6 pieces !!ok !! need to change them, found on line i can buy 2 for $20 so that is not too bad but i need to remove the disc etc to get to them, does anyone have a step through on how to do this, i have a Haynes book and am not to bad at mechanics !! Eh?, mine had a black tray held in by four 6mm ish bolts, underneath there was a silver alloy casting with 2 big bolts at each side and a nut in the middle holding the engine, remember it well, due to grinding noise when accelerating on a left hand turn, it was this casting that hadnt been fully tightened after accident repair and moving making filings. starting to sound scarey !!!, the haynes says about removing a tray from under the engine/gearbox and then memoving the front seat etc, sound like a big job, any ideas on cost to replace the cables or get someone to do it ?? if anyone knows of anyone in Essex, that would be good !! If the cvable is loose etc, would this makeit feel soggy !!? also do you think the gear box is ok ?? Cheers Gary

Hi chaps and chapeses, My partner took our R reg 1.9 tdi manuel galaxy to the shops, drove fine. on returning to the car, she could not engage reverse, it also appered as if the gear box had turned to mush , could not engage reverse as i said but also when she found any gear , the car kept wanting to stall ??? when you manage to engage a gear the gear stick can still move around. Any one have any ideas or suggestions Many Thanks Gary (Essex)
