  1. Hi Gregers, thank you. it is actually on the dash ,where all the warning lights and info is- the "i" with square round it,i went into info on the menu but no messages on there.it just keeps flashing when i lock the car using remote or manually with the key,but if car left unlocked it doesn't flash! Wondering now is this what drained my battery in the first place and what i can do to sort it.
  2. Sorry just did read the replys ,guess Halford's computer system must be cr** as when you input my reg no it brought up galaxy diesel and HSB075 :D .I guess i'll be taking another trip to Halford's tomorrow then! :D Thank you
  3. ***Complete Pillock**** :D That should be HSB019 ( or HB019) Thanks everyone the overnight charge worked and drove to Halfords where they tested the battery and found it had 45% capacity.Apparently they don't change Galaxy batteries as harder to get them out,so took the new battery next door to National and they did it for
  4. hello again,we used the jump leads today.Last night lights etc did work, this am nothing including central locking. After using jump leads did have lights on dash come on,we tried waiting as usual until glow plug light went out then turning on ignition -just heard a click then nothing, tried again with accelator nothing.now have left it charging overnight.don't hold much hope.Thinking now it is something more than the battery :( .Well will see in am everything crossed. Thanks again for your reply.Wish i'd had one of you clever sorts here tonight ;) lol.
  5. well friend tried to jumpstart the car got enough charge that dash lights etc started working but nothing from the engine it was making no attempt to turn over.he suggested we left battery on charge overnight (battery charger read 11 but then started to decrease).he hadn't done this before with battery still in car but removed the two nuts on the top front of battery and disconnected them from the battery-was this correct? What would you recommend as our next step??
  6. RESULT-friend has trade card so battery costing
  7. Thank you both for your replys it is much appreciated,my friends husband had a look last night but it was quite dark even with torch he couldn't really see the battery properly and he was reluctant to do anything. He thought because i had lights etc and had some charge it was possibly something else.Have gone out to car myself this am,and no power whatsover so thank you think this confirms what you have said. Will now go find friends husband again to hopefully jump start me.I guess this means a new battery, have you any recommendations where and what to buy as would love to sort it before my husband returns home. Really appreciate you both taking the time to reply. :D Thanks again Margaret
  8. Sorry if this is not posted properly as I am new to the site.Tried to start my car tonight as put key in ignition all the dash lights starting going off randomly, then when turned ignition on,click as key turned but engine dead as a dodo.It made no attempt to start whatsoever.Presumed it was battery as has been bit harder to start last few days.Checked battery with battery charger and it was picking up 9v. This typically happened when my husband is away as he is in the army.we live rurally and i really need my car!So have been doing a bit of reading on here-is it likely to be battery, starter motor, glowplug or a faulty relay 30 or 109 or none of these????.Can't afford to put it in garage as just forked out for 10 driving lessons for 17yr old stepson and paid off stepdaughters debts due to her being laid off from her job.So basically need ideas of what it could be and any recommendations for some-one local who would have a look without charging much.I live between Sleaford and Lincoln.Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. This looks like a fantastic site.
