Decided to phone RAC this morning... Yep, it's the turbo, he took me home on recovery truck. Anyone got a turbo for sale?

Thanks gio, Had another look at it. No oil in the engine bay or coming from the exhaust, started up fine then went for a drive, the whine was there up to about 30mph but little smoke. still seems under powered, phoned a mate who owns a garage and he mentioned MAF senser. any further ideas anyone... just hoping it's not the turbo!!

Hi all, Have a 1999 1.9 tdi Zetec Auto. Was driving earlier and noticed a high pitched whine from the engine and a loss of power then the whine went away, just gone out to investigate further and when I start the Gal there is a big cloud of smoke and on a short drive on accelaration exessive smoke is coming out of the exhaust and the whine again... take it it's the turbo? If so can I drive it home tomorrow, about 60 miles? and what sort of money am I looking at? Thanks

Yep Matt, know what you mean by the eyes, was gonna go for the 7'' screen but ended up buying the 13'' screen, starting to sweat now :lol:

I know this has been covered many times before..... buuut, has anyone fitted a flip down to a gal without a sunroof? What did you attach it to as I was thinking about the cross members?? will I have to take down the headlining and how easy or hard would this be? Any help would be very much appreciated, pic's would be great as well.

Hi, Hope someone will know the answer, when I turn on the vents or the air con a terrible smell comes from the vent. The easiest way to describe it would be just to tell you how the kids would describe it " like old people", their words not mine!! Any thoughts as what it could be?

The front side windows have to allow 65% light in, anything under this (i.e 64%) is a fail. They will measure this with a meter. As said before you can do anything you want with the rear. Also worth noting is the fact that some tints are sold as legal... and they are.. if you put them on clear glass, but remember all cars sold within the last 10 years have some sort of tint so you are putting tint over tint.

Tried most products, mer, autoglym, turtle wax etc etc. Maguires is the best product out there in my opinion, little bit more price wise but well worth it. Halfords have started doing the full range. :lol:
