  1. Hi. Just wondering if anyone has experienced problems with the timing belt tensioner on these cars and if so what sort of symptoms were you getting. Mine is very rattly on start up (sounds like its missing) from cold but once warm is fine. i have no DTC codes good mpg etc. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  3. Hi. My engine malfunction light has appeared on the dash screen and the car has cut out. This has happened a few times in the last couple of months but this time I've been unable to clear the codes down to restart the engine. The codes are P0098 and P0003. I've only been able to clear code P0003 but as soon as I try to restart the car the engine malfunction display re-appears and upon reading the codes again P0003 has re-appeared. I'm really hoping that someone can point me in the right direction or make some suggestion as to where I should start with this. Thanks very much Dave
  4. Hi. I'm shortly going to have to replace the dual mass flywheel on my 56 reg Galaxy. Does anyone by chance have any recommended procedure/directions for the gearbox removal. Just wondering if its similar to the mondeo in terms of subframe removal etc. Thanks for looking and really would appreciate any info. Thanks. Dave
  5. Hi Thanks for looking and i really would appreciate any help you can give me on this. I have recently fitted a replacement engine (45,000 miler) to my Galaxy. The original engine was great until it dropped a valve. The new engine starts first time every time from cold and runs perfectly. The problem comes once the engine is hot and then it wont restart until it cool right down. Once cool it fires straight away. The only fault code showing is "low rail pressure". As i still had the original engine, I have swapped the rail pressure sensor, the high pressure pump, the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. Unfortunately I still have the same problem. My feeling is that I have a connection or cable failing when hot but don't really know where to start looking. The car is a 2.0L TDCi 140 6g Any advice you can give on this would be most appreciated. Thanks very much. Dave
  6. Thanks, new to this so dont know my way around yet !!
  7. Hi Dave, Please excuse my ignorance but if an injector were leaking causing a pressure loss wouldn't this allow air into the system and then cause cold start problems. I'll check out the low pressure pump tomorrow. Thanks for your input Dave
  8. Hi. Sorry about that. It's a 2.0L TDCi 140 6 speed and it has the Siemens fuel system. It would be great if you had some fresh ideas. Dave
