Thank you for your reply. Now you've asked that, it may well be steam instead of actual smoke, which would explain the hissing.

Hi there Hoping someone will be able to answer this...have been getting white smoke coming from the engine, have tried adding oil and water but neither has helped. Smoke has got alot worse and now won't risk driving it as got really bad today : ( It's white smoke and accompanied by a hissing sound...any ideas please? Thanks in advance!
