Thanks I'll give it a man-handle tomorrow - can I assume from your comments that the galaxy has the same moving pin catch arrangement (which, when closed, locates in what looks like an inverted heart shaped groove) to that of the Alhambra?

It is the same catch as the left side cubby - there is a pivoting piece of plastic that allows the chrome pin to move sidewards as required by the push to open push to close catch. The pin has snapped off but the remainder of the pivoting plastic is still there - it looks like this may be replaceable - does anyone have any experience with this. Also does anyone know how to remove the cubby and/or lid (there are 2 torx screws at the window side within the vervet lined part of the cubby)? - I took these out but the cubby is holding firm.
I looked on the left hand top dash cubby today and the lid has a chrome pin which protrudes from the finger of plastic to engage with the receiving catch. Can anyone confirm if I should have a similar pin in the centre cubby lid (as I do not see anything protruding from the plastic finger on this lid)? cheers in advance
Hi, The lid of my storage space (centre top of dash) does not catch anymore (I have a wedge pressed in the side with the lid down to hold it) - the model is an Alhambra 2001. I'm not sure if anything is missing (I see a angled piece of springy metal in the receiving part and the lid has a finger of plastic which presumably should engage with the metal - this cas a rebate in on the windscreen side of it). I'n not sure if this makes sense to anyone but with the storage bin costing over
