Hi all I have a ford galaxy 2.8i 4x4. We have had it a good few years and just before christmas it stopped, we have been told that the cam belt has gone (now no one has actaully seen the car just by what we have told them) we were driving towards traffic lights stopped and that was it, no bang, no clunk nothing... However we do not have the time, money or expertise to sort it out. Its green and has heated seats, air con, cd multichanger heated mirrors etc. Its been a good family car. He didnt see a broken belt he looked and went by the noise and the fact the car was turning over but making a noise and not starting. I think we will get someone to look at it before we make any drastic decisons, thanks for the advice

Can any one offer me any advice? I was driving towards traffic lights when my car died (all the warning lights came on), then there was nothing. We called the recovery people and he has said the cam belt had gone. Is there any chance of saving the car or would this have killed the engine? its a v reg.. any advice would be appricated - cheers
