  1. I have a 2.3 auto 1997 Galaxy. Following an issue with an overheating engine (caused by a friend driving it around without a fan) it has developed an irratic tick over, it gets far worse when the engine is hot. I have replaced the engine temperature sender but it has not made a significant difference. Whilts replacing the sensor I notice the part in the attached picture which is attached to the right hand side of the engine. It seemed rather odd to me that it only has 1 electrical wire coming out of it but it has a plug that appears to accomodate 2 wires. I cannot find any loose wiring in the engine bay. Does anyone know what this part is and if it is supposed to have 2 wires coming out of it and if so, where the second wire might emerge from? Anybody got any suggestions as to what could be causing the irratic tick over?
  2. The rear n/s window motor has gone on my 1998 Galaxy. I have the chance to acquire a cheap motor but it is from the front n/s window of another Galaxy. Does anyone know if a motor from the front door is the same as a motor from the rear door?
  3. Air duct is intact as is the manifold. I got a friend to plug into the ECU and the engine temerpature reading is 33,000 degrees. Have a new sensor on order from Ford but does anyone know if this could possible cause the problem described?
  4. I have a 1996 2.3l petrol Automatic Galaxy. The engine has developed what I can only describe as a chugging noise. It gets worse when the car is put into Drive or Reverse (but is stationary) and when the engine gets hot. It sounds almost as if the engine is losing revs (or gaining them) but there is no percetible change to the rev counter. I have replaced the MAF sensor and cleaned the injectors but this has not helped. Has anyone got any suggestions?
  5. Yes, they added dye every time, nothing obvious showed up.
  6. I have a 1996 Ford Galaxy. Last year it had a new compressor and heat exchanger, yera before new a/c pipework. It has been regassed 3 times and just keeps loosing the charge, there are no obvious signs of any leaks. There is (occasionaly) a hissing sound which sounds like it is coming from behind the passenger side dash. Anyone know if this could indicate a problem with the evaporator. If it is the evaporator does anyone know if this requires any specialist knowledge/equipment to replace? Also, the a/c display flashes to indicate a fault. Would the problem above cause the display to flash or is there likely to be another problem?
