  1. Many thanks, its a very informative disc with step by step instructions
  2. it turned out to be the air filter intake pipe that was missing behind the wheel arch liner causing the noise :)
  3. Hi, just wandering if anybody knows how to remove the gearbox from the car, its a 2003 tdi, thanks for any help given
  4. i might have to remove the auto gearbox to make it easier , has anybody ever done this themselves ;)
  5. I know the sensor that you mention is on the outside but there are 3 sensors inside also and one of them unfortunately has packed in, apparently its common for these sensors to fail on the ag5 box
  6. i,m thinking of having a go at replacing the shaft speed sensor in our ag5 box myself, i,m just wandering if ill be biting more than i can chew taking it on myself, any suggestions ?
  7. thanks jayton, thats excellent :)
  8. have used the boost leak tester connecting it to the turbo but there are no leaks on that side of things so i,m now looking at the air intake, i,ve noticed the airbox lid doesn,t seem to be closed down firmly on the filter even though the screws are all tight, is it possible this could be warped somehow ?
  9. hi , does anybody know the part number for the for the long plastic pipe that runs from the maf to the turbo intake for the mk2 tdi, thanks
  10. Ive ordered a boost leak tester to try to pinpoint the leak, not sure how to use it though :(
  11. Checked all intercooler pipes and cant find the leak :(
  12. Does anyone know how to remove the front bumper on a mk 2 , tia
  13. i think i may have found the source of the suction noise on our 1.9 tdi mk2, , behind the wheel arch there appears to be a pipe missing that connects to the airbox through the inner wing, is there any such pipe supposed to be there, tia
  14. We had diagnostics done on our 1.9 tdi mk2 automatic because gearchanging is jerky and iy said the intermediate shaft speed sensor is faulty but this is inside the gearbox, is it possible to do this job diy or garage job? Also where could i purchase a new sensor from? Thanks
  15. Ive had the car on the ramps listening underneath but cant hear it whilst the car is stationary, checked intercooler pipes and all seems ok, im wandering if the intercooler itself is damaged as the car was in front end smash a few months back and although its been repaired the cars made this noise since then
