    Batteries only affect remote central locking, not the PATS chip.

    On Vista - Install VAG COM into a folder on desktop (instead of Program files) then run it by right-clicking on the app inside this folder and click `run as administrator`. It's apparently due to vista not allowing the software write files to the `program files` folder. This works with mine. Andy.
