  1. my rear rear ford emblem is showing signs of deterioration is the the replacement stick on or has it got the prongs many thanks in advance galaxy 2004
  2. i need to change my battery on my galaxy 1.9 diesel which now feeling the strain,, will the the varta f18 85 ah 800a be a good replacement or is there a better alternative.. thanks in advance
  3. good evening all small problem, my alternator workshop light came on full time when the pulley disintegrated , new alternator fitted .. now the the problem i have is that the the battery light stays on for around 5 or 8 seconds after starting and the the alternator workshop light then comes on and the goes out... this only happens first thing in the morning not during start ups and not during the day . this has been going on for a week now and i know that the alternator is charging the battery and all connections are sound. the one thing i do know is that the battery is coming to the end of its life, its been struggling for a couple of months is it possible that the brief warning light is a failing battery. and if i was to replace the battery i believe the vartar f18 would be a good replacement.. thanks
  4. if you add a screen wash which has a colour this might help, i opened the tailgate to discover blue screen wash in the locking catch, i got a split or leak some where in the pipe in the tailgate area. when i got time i will have a look
  5. my galaxy just passed its m.o.t but i just read two advisory s 1.. under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components 2 ..engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay this are just fords standard covers as fitted to the galaxy
  6. am not sure myself, maybe you could ask your customers for some tips lol
  7. I thought it was always the case that the service book was not worth the paper its written on, unless its backed up by the invoice for that service, private sellers and garages have been stamping the service books themselves since they were invented. if a seller just shows you a service book without paperwork to backup the service alarm bells should ring. any honest seller would be very eager to show all the paperwork to show the car was cared for.. service books and stamps are very easy to come by
  8. I had this rubbery grinding groan and like you say after it rains. I put it down to the power steering drive belt, I replaced it and the noise has since gone
  9. pop into your local Volkswagen dealer and get Quantum Synta Platinum 5w40 which conforms to 505.01 around
  10. I had the same problem at all speeds mate, turns out it was the wife got shot of her and the whining went. hope this helps
  11. sorry to hear you having so much trouble with your galaxy, but to ask who made these sh1t cars and why can only come from a person who has made a decision to buy the car because he liked the colour please don't take it the wrong way, but there are organisations out there such as the aa, or maybe a good friend, or local mechanic that could guide you in the future. but please don't rubbish the mk2 galaxy, as far as am concerned its the dogs bollocks..
  12. sorry to sound rude but if you have no idea what you are doing, wouldn't it be safer and in the long run cheaper to let a trusted garage do it for you ?????
  13. trying to follow this thread am confused, not being rude , but relay 19,relay 109, fuse 109, are we looking at a relay or fuse
  14. I went to halfords for one and it was around
