  1. thanks to all who replied. Im now back up and running. The problem was relay 167, but seeing as though had ordered a 30 anyway i replaced that too. Still can't believe how hard it was to get hold of the relays though!! And cost
  2. hi i have a 2.3 petrol relay 30 went on me and i couldn't get one of any one other than fords but rang a auto electrician and he came out and solderd it for a tenner 18 month later its still going thanks 4 ur reply. Ive got an auto electrician coming to have a look this morning so will mention it. I definately think its the relay. Its not clicking (and ive heard from here it should) and when my partner manually pushed the arm the rev counter was going up. Or am I just getting my hopes up lol??
  3. Had my friends brother come out yesterday but couldn't find anything wrong. The diagnostic kept saying no communication so couldn't use that either. Have phoned a garage today but they think its an electric problem, so an auto electrician is looking at it tomorrow. Have ordered a new relay 30 (after phoning loads of places and having no luck!!) but seeing as though it costs
  4. Hi Thanx for this reply! It isn't a diesel, its a petrol, but I did have my doubts about the relays. Is 109 the same as relay 30? Its a 98 Sharan and dont seem to find the 109? My friends brother is out tonight to check it over so am hoping it will get sorted! Where can you buy the relays from? Thanks again Lisa
  5. I just pulled down the cover, cos its next to the steering wheel, and they're all in there :D
  6. Thank u! Thought would be days til got a reply lol. Have been reading about the relay 30?? I did have a few times were it wouldnt start right away, and Green Flag came out (again!) and mentioned loose relay. So I gave them all a bit of a wiggle and the engine would start again, but this time nothing :) I'm really hoping its nothing major and expensive :D
  7. Hi, please be gentle as am new to all this lol :D My 98 Sharan died on me whilst driving it today. All of a sudden, power just went off, the dash lights all came on and it wouldn't move. Called Green Flag who did fair few tests, relays, fuses, coils etc and couldn't find anything wrong :D The engines ticking over but wont start. The mechanic who came out seemed to think might be an electric problem, and said take it to a garage 2moro and get it hooked up for a diagnostic. Couple questions if no1 minds?? 1. Are these diagnostics expensive? 2. Any1 have any idea what it could be based on what have said (if any of it makes sense lol)? 3.Do I just cut my losses and scrap it lol? Any help will be fab :) Thanks Lisa :)
