  1. Thanks Gregers. Tried looking but could only find guide to the wioring loom from the back doors to the B-pillar. Couldn't see anything specific on this loom. Please can you help me by pointing out which of the FAQ's applies. Before posting I spent a couple of hours searching the forum for a guide without any joy. Thanks Allan
  2. Have broken wires in the connector by the right hinge of the tailgate. Need to replace but I cannot figure out how to get to the connectors at the ends. Please can anybody help? Thanks Allan
  3. Hi All, Have usualk problem of snapped wires in the loom between the b-pillar and the rear door. Have fixed in the past with connector blocks, but now the wires are corroded and snapped out of the circular connector coming out of the pillar. Now I need a new loom. No luck from local scrappies, can anyone recommend a source of the wiring that is cheaper than Ford/Seat/VW dealer? Thanks Allan Mk1 w/ electric windows, central locking in rear doors
  4. Now the gearbox selector cables broke; a bolt sheared off and exited through the side of the gearbox casing. :P
  5. Both my rear door wiring looms are dead. Have been recomnnecting wires with a soldering iron, but now they have pulled out of the centre pillar connector. Anyone know of a cheap source for these looms? Dealer is quoting

In neutral the engine sounds normal, turbo whistles as usual. Put it in gear and drive off and it sounds like a 1950's lorry. HELP! (tdii 110, manual) Imp.
  8. Until you really get down on the ground, you will not believe just how far up the dashboard this b... fuse is. I had same problem. Small hands also help - I had to get one of my kids to change it.
  9. Drain tap? Please can you let me know where this is. Thanks, Allan
  10. If I have less than 1/4 of a tank of diesel and park facing downhill, the engine will not start. Problem is that this describes my driveway pretty well. Can get the car out of the drive on the starter motor (not recommended) and eventually the engine starts, albeit with a heck of a lot of smoke for a few secs. Is this a 'feature' or a problem with a known fix? As ever, any help appreciated Sharan, 110bhp Tdi. 1998 ®.
  11. The 6inch wiring looms to both my rear doors have broken wires in them. They seem a touch too short so that the doors stretch the wires when fully open (or maybe the kids used them as handles). Quote from a dealer to fix the pair was
