Heated Rear Glass Drivers Side
Halloween Man replied to Halloween Man's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks Guys !! That clears that up ... -
Hi , Just wondering if the rear side window demister on the drivers side (RHS) , is activated by the demister control for the back window ? I noticed the connection on the actual window had popped off , and before connecting it again I tested it with a multi meter to see if 12 Volts was present when the rear window demister was on ... needless to say 0 volts ! Does anyone know how this heated window is activated ? Thanks

Water In Drivers Footwell
Halloween Man replied to teresa's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Just wondering if you have made any progress with the leak ? I replaced the windscreen last week and discovered the leak is ....wait for it....... STILL THERE ! -
I have a leak in both footwells and have tried EVERYTHING .... I have a question about the scuttle drains ..... They are not blocked and water runs freely out , when I was checking them I noticed a damp soft thing ! (see picture of drivers side scuttle ) - could this be a filter , not fitted correctly which is redirecting the rain to the footwells ? Thanks...

Water In Drivers Footwell
Halloween Man replied to teresa's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I know the feeling ... I have the exact same problem with a 2002 Tdi (leakin drivers footwell) - I have tried every f!%$ing thing under the sun - and I still have the leak in the drivers footwell. I have unblocked scuttle drains been to Ford (useless trip ! ) checked TIS for info and did all recommended checks checked all door seals , grommets etc sealed windscreen sealed joins in floorpan with silicon. and lots more .... I think FORD are responsible for this major design flaw - seems to be very common. Wonder could we take action ? Any suggestions/ feed back .. much appreciated -
Thanks Dave - I owe you a pint ! If I find the leak I will buy you a keg !

Major Leaks In Both Foot Wells
Halloween Man replied to Halloween Man's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
No Unfortunetly.. -
Thanks for the reply - Does the washer pipe run in a channel near the door (wrapped in black tape along with wiring ?) This is the only thing I can see running from the front of the car to the back. The spray of water from the front wheels seems to be the culprit for driving the water uphill !, however I would like to check the water pipe that you mentioned as well. Thanks again

Hi , I discovered the cause of a leak in my 2002 Galaxy, when I lifted the carpet last night. In the floor directly behind the front passenger seat (LHS) , there is a circular hole about 1 inch diameter , which water was coming in. The grommet / plug obviously got lost ... When I tried to get a grommet from Ford , they were not aware of this part. Has any body come across this ? Thanks, Dan

Oil Temp Guage
Halloween Man replied to Halloween Man's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
no... its the Analogue engine temperature guage (Oil temp ?) Thanks again -
Has anybody noticed their Oil temp guage drop to the minimum value and then a few seconds later return to its proper value ? This has occurred several times. Is it a dodgy sensor or somethin more sinister ? (2002 Tdi Gal) What could be causing this ? Thanks

Any ideas on - how to test, how effective the Air Con is on a 2002 TdI Gal ? The weather is cold at the moment so , it is hard to determine the difference between the cold air from the blower and the a/c being on. When I turn on the a/c , I dont notice any difference in engine revs , is this normal ? Does the air con work below 5 degrees ? Are there any tests I can run to make sure it is working OK ? or do I have to wait for a hot day ? Thanks....

Passenger Footwell - Water Leak
Halloween Man replied to Halloween Man's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Yes , it did rain over night , very heavily ... , so its either the windscreen, or the rear washer problem which was not fixed properly. (I was testing the washer during the day) I really dont know at this stage , but I am wondering if the dealer does find the root cause , can it be dried out with out having problems ? -
Hi , I am seeking urgent advice ... I purchased a 2002 Galaxy Tdi , at the start of this week, only to discover that the passenger footwell was flooded with water. It was returned to the Ford deale,r which said it was the rear window washer pipe which had come adrift. They fixed this yesterday. After leaving a dehumidifier in the car over night , I was confident that the problem was over ... only to discover that the passenger footwell was again soaking with water. :) I rang the dealer again and they said they would fix it. The service manager told me that the new Galaxy's do not leak, and ruled out the pollen filter as a cause (said pollen filter could be a possibility in a Focus) I have the following concerns : :) The leak seems to be present for some time ... there is a smell of damp from the carpet in the footwell. Worst case the leak has been there form 2002 ... would this cause damage , to the body , wiring , underlay , carpet etc?? (There are no electronics in the storage space under the seat ) I would appreciate opinions as to whether to accept another attempt to fix this or if to return the car. Can it be dried out without problems .. smell of damp etc ? Many thanks for your opinions...

Blower Fan And A/c Light
Halloween Man replied to Halloween Man's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Cheers guys ... thanks for the info , much appreciated -
Hi All, Just bought a 2002 TDi Gal yesterday and have a couple of questions ! 1) Why does A/C light come on when you turn on the blower fan ? 2) Why are Heated screen lights (front & rear) coming on ramdomly ? (at least I think they are !) I did read that they shut off automatically after 10/20 minutes , but do they come on by themselves ? Any info much appreciated as I need to know what needs fixing ! Thanks, Dan
