Cautionary tale if you want to take any notice of this. I was unaware of this problem with the galaxy, put the wipers on, nothing apart from clicking noise, stripped car down to linkage, couldn't see anything, to local spanish garage, out comes linkage, snapped at one end due to the wiper being seized, not motor. 600!!! euros for linkage, plus labour, didn't know what spanish for scrap yard was. Regular maintainance from now on, I will be drilling those holes. Regards Nick

If it is any help I used the deflectors from Halfords, easy to fit & they even got me through the Spanish eqivalent of the mot as I put my Galaxy on Spanish plates. Urban rumor has it that in the main tourist season the French Police stop as many UK vehicles as can near the channel ports to see if you have everything you need, if not welcome heavy fine. I drove across last September to Mallorca & didn't even get looked at. In Mallorca the police set up major road checks to see if you have everything, the strange thing there though is they only stop Spanish registered cars, not UK, as they dont want the hassle. Hi George, Unlikely I would get car through with the deflectors fitted, would love to though. Could you confirm you only think Galaxy lamps would fit, another member who was kind enough to reply says others should fit & certainly on ebay they are listing as fitting Galaxy, Sharan & Alhambra? Hi welcome to the site You need to check whether you got halogen or xenon lights because there not interchangeable, halogen being more common. More chance getting euro lights abroad, would be like gold dust here, sharan & alhambra same. You will need torx type socket with long extension, 4 bolts per lamp, easy to change :o Thanks for that, I am pretty certain they are Halogen, I have missed out on a couple of sets on ebay. Could you confirm for me if I can use VW or Seat as another member who was kind enough to reply says Galaxy lamps only? Thanks Nick Wood

Hi All, I was given a 2004 Ford Galaxy 1.9 tdi xl private hire vehicle. Drove it to Mallorca & I now neeed to put it on Spanish Plates. I know nothing about the Galaxy apart from the fact it was a brilliant to drive down. I believe this may be the Mk 2? I have been told that there are other headlamps from the Sharan & Alhambra that will fit this Galaxy. Could anyone please confirm for me what lights from the galaxy range will fit this galaxy & what other vehicle headlamps will fit it? Does anyone have any European Headlamps that will fit this that they would like to sell? New ones are outragously priced for what the car is worth. If not I will try & source from Spanish dismantelers. Is the replacement straightforward, I saw in one of the topics that they are not conventional bolts? Many Thanks Nick Wood Newbie
